Had to leave before the actual races but the 90 struggled today; the 1/8 was very week hitting only 83-86MPH.....but ended @ 118.75 to 119.97. Clutch was a struggle as it was difficult to complete the 1-2 shift
Pete was turning some nice times, as were AL and Kevin....
Looks like next year for me, need to fix the clutch issue and get it tuned....
Great to see eveyone out there....

He did not, Paul did with about the same result as I had
My Z ran good today i was very proud of her.
There were a lot of issues at the track today so could not get many runs.
First pass was 11.32 @ 129.35 second pass had an issue with heating the tires got an 11.60 @ 128.5.
We had a few break downs (3) today hope everyone gets them fixed for next year.
Matt was there with his turbo Z a very nice car makes gobs of power but was getting a lot of wheel spin,i will let him explain.
We had a great showing of Z's and people even with the issues it was a great time with great people.
Some members came all the way from Ohio and Michigan,WOW.
Hope to see more people next year.

Wow! Whata great turnout! 14 cars in all and the Registry Zs had the fastest 3 cars AGAIN!! Yeah!! However, Crown Point Corevette Club switched the trophy awards to bracket racing - so this year none of the "heads up" results counted - far as keeping the all-round trophy.
However! Marc Haibeck took the first place trophy in the bracket racing eliminations and Al took the trophy for the fastest time(?) (It was confusing - so is that right Al?)
I was really happy with the way my "little red Corvette" ran, AND for the first time in three meets, I didn't break anything! WooHoo! She ran a 12.46 @ 119.9 and my second run was 12.51 @ 120.59 (121;)). The bad news was the driver:o - both 60' were 2.1s. I need more practice on launching, for sure!
And I've never missed a shift ever...before yesterday. The (video) camera I mounted to the windshield told the sad story. The other guy was dialed in at 12.9 (C6/LS2) I was dialed in at 12.5 so he left early by a couple car lengths. But, the video shows the Z was realing him in until the 1-2 shift...and that was that! Good car, bad driving!
There were a few detractors: LOTS of track delays. There were several halts due to technical problems with the lights, etc., had to share the track with a hoard (sp?) of other drag racers**, and the usual oil spills and a glass T top flew off a Trans Am (?) and smashed on the track. I'd guess the total down time for the day was at least 3 hours - which resulted in several people having to leave before the end, unfortunately. But, except for two of our "Big Guns" Kevin breaking his transmission, and Bob snapping a spidle (where've we heard that before?) it was a great day and great to see so many Brothers of the Beast!!
**Several people noticed how well our street driven Zs stacked up against some of those full-race dragsters with their huge "ratchitah-ratchitah" cams and tubs and open headers. Several Zs cleaned a lot of clocks of those noisey, smoky, trailer queens.
Come back again, and I'll have some photos posted!

had a blast yesterday!!! never raced in my life!!! my best run of the day outta seven was 117mph at 12.70et. me and haibeck were the only Z's that made it to the second round a few of the 10-11 sec Z's broke during test and tune so me and marc represented the Registry down to the finall 11 and then i was eliminated but i bleve marc made it to next round. we loaded up and went to watch the finals and a non vette race took place and the mustang lost its back window and it shattered all over the track and we assumed the cleanup would be long so we headed south, it was great to see and meet everyone, count me and Kevin in for yrs to come!!!! never had so much fun for $35 ever....well there was this one time in mexico.....never mind.... brody p.

No, I prefer to autocross or road race. Personally I know my limitations when it comes to drag racing. If I did, I probably would need the trailer more than you think. I have owned one car that I cared to drag race and that was a 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner with a 440 and four speed. I ran average times but man could it handle abuse in a straight line!

It was a good day. I enjoyed getting out and meeting a bunch of fellow ZR-1 guys for the first time. It was my first time putting the turbo on the track and I couldn't believe how hard it was trying to get traction. Maybe with a little more practice and a set of Hoosiers, I might be able to get off the line and hold my ground (at least until something else breaks). I ended up cutting my day a little short because my oil return line from the turbo was blowing by the hose clamp. I didn't want to take a chance of blowing it completely off. I only got three runs in but the third one wasn't too bad seeing that I was running street tires. It was addictive. On the way home, all I ould think about is what else I could do and get back out on the track with a bit more success.
As for the tent flying away, there was one casualty, Marc's car got hit and got a pretty good scratch on it. That is a shame. His car looked mint too. Anyways, had a great time and can't wait to get out again.

Kevin, thanks again for letting me drive your 441. It was the deciding point for me to build a big cube motor. I'm not at all surprised that you ran in the 10's with that beast.

Yeah, Brett... I'm afraid that would happen to me, were I to test drive one of those BIG INCH LT5s. So far I've been able to avoid taking up the offers to drive one. As Bob said, I'd then be mortgaging the house!) But, I think I could break into the 11s with what I have , and that would be good 'nuff for a while...mebby.;)

By my observation, the key is PIZZA! Everybody I know that owns a pizza place has the $$ for fast cars! Maybe you and I need to open a PIZZA joint, put some serious inches in the motors, (and bigger splines, of course) and kick some azz!

PS: I'd suggest asking Pete to be a partner, but he'd prolly never give up his sheepies, and we just can't have all that stray wool getting in the sauce!:p
