"Someday" I need to replace my windshield due to a crack and delam. I can't justify getting the reproduction ZR-1 windshield, so I plan on getting a standard C4 windshield.
I noticed this line on VetteMed's ad
_Windshield has clear tint "AirBlue" to help with heat rejection like stock windshield_
I'd be interested in getting some tint for the windshield.
Andrew, do you have more info on this?
Anyone else have this or something similar?
TIA,
Gary

Hi Gary-- If you do get tinting on a regular Corvette widshield, I'll bet you could get the tint person to create a cutout just like the originals. Maybe even get a color that is close to the original. I don't know but maybe the windshield could even be tinted before it goes in the car to make it easier to get it smooth. Just a couple of thoughts.--Bob

FWIW & I don't really know:
Is it legal to tint your windshield?
I know front and side window tints
are now OK here in wonderful Calif. ,
but I thought not the windshield.
On the other hand, just like exhaust/
headers/etc., BFD.

The manufacturer is Llumar, any authorized dealer tint shop should be capable of a correct installation. Very unlikely to be detected by police as it's very light in color.

Thanks for posting! We should have it in the "SOLUTIONS" section. :-D

Bob, I was thinking the same thing ...
tf, I agree that tinting the windshield is potentially a problem with the "tint police," but I just want a slight tint which hopefully isn't that noticable

Here's the link to llumar's "windscreen" tint

Sometime I'll contact one of their recommended installers and get some more information.

If the tint were between the two pieces of glass, this would be perfect. I know here in virginia, the inspectors are quite happy to use their razor blades getting your old stickers off; which would destroy the tint....

that and window tint on the front windshield is illegal. The always try to not pass me until I tell them it is from the factory that way.
