I eliminated my top end, but it wouldn't run. So, I finished the job and eliminated the bottom end too. Still won't run...BUT! The car is some 500# lighter, and makes a heckuva great Soapbox Derby car!:sign10:
Yeah, yeah...jes pullin yer tail!
In addition...
Secondary throttle plates/rods eliminated
90 sport seats (in favor of comfy standard 95s)
FULL POWER switch about to be bypassed (today)
Vacuum pump

I've yet to see a poll setup that there weren't problems with and this one is no exception. (maybe more so)
That's what happens when you've had a pint on a Saturday night
The biggest blunder is the thread title.
While it was my intent to only capture a profile of how ofter things get tossed I soon realized that most of what gets tossed is replace with after market stuff so I crafted the Poll title to say
"Choose as many as applies. (Deleted or not OEM)"
But of course that title is easily missed.
AND because you have to create the thread title BEFORE you create the poll, you're toast if you expand the scope of the poll while creating it. Frustrating.
Anyway things like "Top End" are meant to cover the whole top end so for instance if you have different cams or ported etc. Yes the Secondary system is a part of the top end but since it is called out separately you have to put your thinking cap on.
Then there are all the various possible systems and things tossed.
The "Secondary System" for instance. I put "Secondary Actuators" but fully meant to say the whole system, "Secondary System".
I also did not get a full list of possible things that get tossed.
I am sure someone has tossed that original gas cap or the original wing nuts that hold the air filter in. I guess they'll just get missed.
In summary. Do the best you can.
This poll info can help people new to the car decide based on popularity if he/she wants to toss things like the steering wheel in favor of a joystick. Or for that matter the LT5 in favor of an LS9.
There is no "why would anyone do that" question.
People just do what they feel makes the car better.
And that includes looking for a secondary system to put back in
the car that they bought.

Only things not stock are A/C (R-134a), exhaust, and air box, which is on your list. 1 thing not on your list is the shifter, have a B&M Ripper shifter. I do have all the original parts. I have toyed w/ the idea of putting it back 100% original, minus the R12,(although I guess I could have the 134a evacuated, replace the hi/lo ports, and refill w/ R-12, lol).

ZF Doc B&B trans with CrashThru Motion Detent for Reverse
Chip; locked power key on full
63mm throttle body, coolant by-pass
Ron Davis radiator
AND soon to have Kid's Black Sock replacement for A.I.R. Duct filter (G. Killebrew suggested HP mod) LOL

By CHOICE?
The ZF 6 stick.
NOT by choice?
Back up lights.
Park / Neutral safety start.
Cruise control.
Center console lights.
Working speedo.
(and have added option 'H&G' - leave a trail of transmission fluid connect-a-dots, so I can find my way back to the house; a.k.a, Hansel & Gretel :D ). Small Claims on the Docket for March

Why delete the LTPWS? Seems pretty popular to disable it.

Like a lot of other deletes I think it's viewed as fewer parts to fail. And like other things yanked, once they're out they can't fail.
I think too many have fallen victim over the years to having been damaged by tire places. Then when one is damaged the rest are yanked.

I deleted the vacuum secondary system and, with the addition of headers, deleted the A.I. R. system. The rest are modifications of the OEM parts, like 4:10 gears, porting, headlights, exhaust, etc. --Bob

Yep
and
Yep again!
The exception (in my case) is the secondaries. In addition to eliminating potential issues, they impede air flow/performance. Now, after porting the top end, they wouldn't fit anyway. And, I really love the way it runs w/o those bastards; nothing but good, and good ridance, IMO.

I try and delete my tires every time I get in it. I'm also very good at deleting fuel AND the competition as well.
Other than that, just TPWS, secondaries and some excess metal that was stuck inside my plenum, FIH and cylinder heads.

Man, I couldn't check one box! Even after having Mark tune the car and reprogram it, I had him disable the default to full power switch just so I can still use my Power Key.
I know, pretty wierd, but I like originality. :-D

No doubt there could be changes made to the poll.
No doubt too as soon as the changes are made more changes
could be made. It's all good.
It's like the "Where are all the ZR-1s poll". Over time things change and
the poll's usefulness comes into question.
In the case of "Deleted Features" I submit over time some systems that have not been the focus of change could become so. At that time they'd need to be added too . Then there are sub-systems that could need their own heading. (Coolant system and the sub-system Coolant to the TB) Then there are the spelling errors on it. (mess vs mesh) [-X
Unfortunately only an admin can make any changes to a poll so ......????
Overall I can see three separate polls that could happen.
1. Removed Systems
2. Modified Systems
3. Added Systems.

What features have been deleted in your car?
I think maybe "deleted" is not the best word. Possibly "modified", or "improved", or my favorite "Optimized". :p
I've changed four things you've mentioned:
Air box
Gears
Wheels
Exhaust
Plus some things you didn't mention (below). I would include on your list:
Shifter
Flywheel
Power Key
Skip Shift feature
The last two are genuine "Deletes".

Those are some good additions to the list. There's many many many more that could be added. My thoughts now are to create a new series of polls, each pointing to the others.
1. Deleted Systems
2. Modified Systems
3. Added Systems
4. Fixed Systems
That should cover all scenarios. Then it's a matter of getting a complete list that would be shared for 1,2 and 4.
List 3 would have to be kinda open ended with a the poll being very generalized. (Engine, Body, Drive Train. Suspension, etc)
Living within the confines of the forum poll feature limits is the real challenge.

I know another Turq soon to be deleted.
I really like the color on your car. Kinda Cyber Grey-esque. I'm contemplating a carbon fiber hood and something darker would work well with it.

The list grows, seems like every year or so, something else changes..
So far:
iew Poll Results: Choose as many as applies. (Deleted or not OEM)
Micro mess windshield: replaced for std WS (and I LOVE IT!)
Exhaust: SW headers and X-pipe, 3" stainless piping, Magnaflow mufflers
Wheels: Aftermarket chrome A-molds
Secondary vacuum actuators: Gone (ALL of it! - never want to revert it)
Seats: replaced with std 95 (black) seats
Air Filter Box and/or Filter : K&N kit w/ internal sleeve
Brakes: Hawk HPS pads
Engine Top End: ported and cams phased by Pete
Head Lights: LEDs (Genssi/CREE H6054 projector)
Tail Lights: LEDs
Body Parts: hood from a 93(?), front bumper from an 89
So far, my goal is mostly skewed toward stock appearance - I like the "sleeper" aspect. The ZR-1 fender badges I added gets in the way of that, but I seldom (i.e., NEVER) street race anymore and I do so like those ZR-1 badges!
The exception to mods is performance (mostly engine) mods AND lighting due to inadequate OE night lighting. (Old eyes, I guess.)
Oh, I'm 6' and 240# and my wife is 6' 1". According to a conversation I had with Dave Mclellan, the model for the C4 cabin was 5'-10" and 185#. Anyway, the fact is the 90 ZR-1 sport seats pressed in above our outboard thighs, just above the knee so that riding more than 2 hours was uncomfortable to down right painful after 4 hours!
My wife's hips too were not a good fit in those seats either (women's hips are wider than us guys of equal height especially). I loved the std seats in my 95 Vette, so I swapped out the sport seats when the 95s became available. Now BOTH of us are comfy now on long trips! (We also did the same swap in her 91 ZR-1.)
My favorite mods (in order) are:
Changes to the engine porting and exhaust system
The std seats (getting rid of the stock sport seats!)
Deleting the secondaries
Chrome A-molds
Installing a standard windshield
Black (Lloyd) mats
Future possibilities ($$ permitting)
Pete's cams and/or possible 391 upgrade
Upgrade the wheels/tires/brakes
410s
...
"It never ends!"
.
