I am really torn B/T selling my Hayabusa or not. As with most toys its really had some mods. / Time and $$$ invested .( 200HP on 400 lbs ) I'll never get what I have in it out of it. But I have lost 2 friends on a Busa and another just the other day. I also saw a real nasty wreck on the interstate a few months ago that wont ever leave my memory bank. ( It was bad ) !
So If I make this heart breaking decision can I get some really bad Mods for ? 8K-9K ?
I guess I'd have to change my screen name too :)
What ya think ?? !

I quit riding a long time ago. I always wanted to see how fast a bike could go. Fortunately I never owed 200 hp on 400 lbs. Plus I kept falling off.
You probably won't get the money back, but you may get to keep your life. Money well spent. Pus, we'll let you keep the busa part of your name.

I personally have never been a rider but have always enjoyed the look of a good bike. That being said, I too have lost close friends to motorcycle accidents. Too much risk for me personally.

Yea , I dont worry about death , but sitting in a wheel chair and needing someone to wipe my bottom really bothers me for some strange reason ( I don't want to put that on my family ) . So I am looking at a couple vettes on ebay and at the stainless exhaust systems for the ZR.. I figure I could get a 1990 -2000 vette leave it factory and just drive the H*ll outa it , while I have my zr for show and go. Plus I almost have all I need to put a 283 in my S10..
I will miss my bike tho. Its a 2004 with 9k miles , stretched and painted dodge viper blue pearl , tons of chrome and a big bore kit. and FAST !

Nice bike. They're definitly dangerous though, and more because of people in cars don't see them coming, until it's too late. Lost one friend, and 2 others were in very serious accidents. If you sell GL, hopefully you get what you want for it.

I quit riding after my last major spill at over 120mph. I broke my left wrist and had to have 6 titanium pins 4" long drilled into it with a full cast over it. My right knee cap got ripped out and found. I had to have 3 surgeries on that leg and a skin graph. I didn't get out of the hospital for 3 months. I was still on crutches and had to have a visiting nurse come everyday to change my dressings from the road rash. I was not having a good time at all. But it was 1993 and I was only 23 so at least I had youth on my side. This is my progression from my first bike to the one I almost died on. My first was a Honda elite 80 scooter. With a good tailwind it would do 45mph. Traded that for a 1978 Kawasaki KZ 400 which had a push button start and a kick start your choice. It would do 68mph. Then I moved up to a Sazuki GS 700 ES which would do 120mph. I totalled it in a wet parking lot. Bought another one. Tried to take a corner to fast and went right through a barb wire fence and totalled it and myself. My next bike was a huge move up in performance. It was a 1990 Sazuki GSXR 750 top speed 151mph. That was a fantastic bike. Traded it up to a GSXR1100 top speed 176mph and thats the one I almost bought the farm on. The thing with bikes are that every time you go down on one you get f%&ed up. That street becomes a giant grinding wheel. I've been rear ended sitting at a stop light in a little GMC Sanoma by someone doing 65mph in a full size GMC pickup and walked away without a scratch. If I was sitting at that light on a rice rocked or a Harley I would have been dead. I only drive cars and trucks now.

I'm trying to let the testosterone go an use my head for once.. The only time I have medical insurance is when I am working overseas. When I'm home, I have nothing. ( lucky I never needed it ) .
So yea its time to let it go and become vette addicted ( I am ) .. I guess I'll be on this site for a long time to come, lord willing.. Thanks for the replies.

I had very good insurance. Blue sheild HMO. It cost $900 a day to be in that hospital. The bill was over $81,000. My deductible was $5.00. And guess what I went out and bought to drive after that? A 1974 Duster three on the tree with police hubs. It was so ugly I was afraid to take a woman out on a date in it. But it was only $450 and got me by until I got something I wasn't so embarrassed of.lol!
