Well, here we go guys. I have a terrible squealing coming from my front right brake. Squeals constantly when heated up (I'm sure from expansion). I put new slotted and drilled rotors on last winter for a little "bling". I had new pads done just last fall so the pads were OK. I just took off the pads and replaced the brackets, retainers, pads, etc. but to no avail. Pretty sure this is a minor item to fix but I must be overlooking something. Any suggestions would be helpful. I have the C5 upgrade on the front. The squealing noise is very annoying and is there even when the brakes are not applied. The left front is fine.................

Hi Bob,

Jez you did almost everything except replace the caliper! Is it possible that the left caliper's piston is slightly stuck? Do our Z's use sliding calipers or do we have two piston calipers? Sorry I don't even know...I never looked:o

The only other thing would be the wheel bearing assembly, that's all that's left? Unless the dust shield is hitting something...if we even have dust shields?:o There are no marks on the wheel or the rotor that would indicate something rubbing?

Do the brakes work normally? Ya know, no pulling & they work...stop straight, right?

Sorry...I'm a big help, ain't I!:???: You probably tried all this obvious stuff. Wish I had better suggestions. I'd like to know what's up when you find it!

Did you lube the caliper pins and are they operating (sliding) properly? If so, the pistons would be the next item to check.

Took the caliper off and noticed that the rotor was rubbing against one of the calpier clips. Used my dremel to shave it down a bit and put a little silicone on the end and the noise is gone. Thanks for the help. It always amazes me that a 5 cent part can cause so many problems..........
