My ac compressor locked up on me last week or so. I was going to wait till next year to replace it but the lack of defrost capability is really putting a damper on my driving. Where's the best place to get a new or rebuilt unit without payong an arm and a leg?

Kevin, the eBay compressor is from Y-me here on the forum. You might be able to deal on "that one" I believe he mentioned the A/C was cold when he bought the car. Don't know for sure but he's generally been a quite reliable person to deal with. Ask if his was a 12 or 134 conversion!

Have yours "re-sealed"? What do you feel is wrong with yours?

after talking with a friend of mine, I don't think it's locked, I think the clutch is shot and wont spin when engaged. the car squeals when the ac or defrost is turned on

If it's out of gas you could take out the orifice to see if there are metal shavings on it. If so........ compressor self destructed.

Y-ME (Dan) is good to deal with. That compressor is most likely out of the 1990 #444 that I bought the body to. Also bought the LT5 short block.

PM him. He would rather sell it outside Ebay, I'm sure.

the description is wrong in this auction ( says it is for a 'P' VIN) but the 10PA17C is the correct Compressor.. LT1/4 and L98 used a 10PA20

Check your clutch on your compressor first and make sure its good. This one does not come with one. I got one of these last year and had to over pay for a used clutch as Mine was shot. New Clutches are hard to find!
