&4,000 miles. Just a tad over but I have only had the pleasure of putting on a few thousand on this machine.

I've doubled the mileage on my 1991 Z from 3,500 to 7,000 in just 9 month's ownership. Why wait for the value to go up when you can drive it?

36,000 now, 25,000 when I got it three years ago. Been to BG once at over 4k miles and Spokane twice at about 1k miles each. So 6k of the 11k has been put on with three trips.

This poll will need to be done again in a few years to see the progression. Most will fall in the 10k -100k range as expected.
Looking for the outliers in the lower and higher ranges.
If you know someone in these ranges encourage them to post.
Oh and you can set more than one range when you vote so if you have more than one Z get them all in.

15k I bought it with 3k in 05 but didnt register or drive till May 06. I have enjoyed everyone of the miles I have put on her. The most enjoyable though has been riding in a caravan with my WAZOO brothers :proud:

I'll hold off on entering my mileage for a month or so, when I expect to hit 200K.

I put 36k on my '90 in 7 years.........it had 68k on the clock when I sold. It was a much nicer car at 68k than it was at 36k. I had straightened out all the bugs for the new owner, and did some upgrades. Not sure how I will drive the '94 yet.
It is just a tad racier

Bought mine at 3K Mi. eighteen years ago, and now I'm at 66K. Lots of fun, with a WOT blast almost every time out. To the red line every drive. I pity the guys that are trying to keep the mileage down.
I can't think of another model car that so many have purchased new, and driven so little. It's kind of a shame. They made nearly seven thousand of them, yet there are so many pristine, museum quality examples. But I guess that's great for the guys that don't have one yet.
It might be helpful, on the next poll, to break up that 10K to 100K category. Most of us fall into that range, but there is quite a difference between a 10-12K garage queen and an 85-90K mi. driver. In the real world, any car 20 years old with less than 100K on it is unusual.
I'd like to know how many have low to moderate usage, like mine, with 50-75K on them.

A few questions have come up a few times so let me explain.
I chose to use the scale I did on purpose because I intend to use it
again and again. I expect some cars will reach the upper ranges eventually. Also there is lack of resolution in the 10k to 100k range on purpose to show that's where most of us are right now. It's a kind of baseline.
Finally the two VERY LOW ranges are the cause I know there are a few investment cars out there.

I see. So this is the first of a long term look at how it changes, cool.
I just thought that if you broke up that 10-100K range it would be graphically more revealing to show a bell curve rather than a spike.
My guess is that, when years go by, the curve would tend to flatten out, and of course move to the higher ranges. Is that what you expect?

I've had mine since 12/16/2004, and it was a very good Christmas that year!;) The original owner only did 7400 from 6/17/1990, and I'm responsible for the rest, including the road rash! I guess I should have bought that bra after all.:o
I had Mistress out yesterday and She just turned 54,105. She has been to every Gathering since '08 and Her first trip to BG was in '05. I figured it would be good for Her to go home after 15 years just to renew old connections. For me the best thing about this car is how sweet She is on a long highway journey. She is simply a joy to drive for hours on end.
Thank you to Davey Mac & Company for creating this car!
Drive'em if ya got'em! Don't forget to wave too!

I think over the next 10yrs we'll see a move of the 10k-100k peak into the 100k-200k range such that they will be about even. And a few cars reach the 200k-300k range but none in the 300k-400k range.
After that the next 10yrs (2022 = 2032) will not see that much movement. The cars in the lowest two ranges (if anyone logs them) will stay about the same. A few may get driven but most not as they are more valuable left undriven.
As for mine, I expect to reach 150k in 10yrs :)

If conducted again I believe the ranges should be modified, 10k - 100k is a very large spectrum.

I put 7000 miles on mine so far since I got it about a year and a half ago. It would have been more if gas was cheaper.
Admittedly the miles have not been accumulating as much recenlty, but shaking it down and breaking it a couple of times really helped to find the weak links and get it ready for normal usage.
current mileage is 33,900 or so.

My '95 Z currently has 14,400 miles. When I bought it in December of 2011, it had 12,120 miles.
GM put the first 10,416 miles on it and between 1996 and 2011, less than 2,000 miles were put on the car. I have driven it more since April than the car has had in the last 16 years!

It's nice to have a garage queen Vette, as is our 80 white / red 4-speed with only 23,000. But it is so much better to drive one, especially the ZR-1. It is truly a road machine and loves to stretch its legs!
I have owned the 93 LSV385 Green Thing since our purchase from Frank U in Oct 2011. Then at 32,200 miles, Frank had taken great care of it, and I know he had a lot of fun doing it.;)
After a ZF Doc tranny and Hurst short-throw rebuild it now shifts like silk. If you ever think of doing a tranny job, check with Bill, he is the wizard and not that expensive ... free plug time. Special thanks to Dennis Scott for pulling and installing..a great guy to know as I am sure most of you guys know that already.:handshak:
After BG Gathering, the GT has a little over 35K and it will be going up with a July trip to Jersey to see friends and Rels (To/from SC about 1,300) and then to Carlisle in Aug another 1,500 or so. As Phil DeJohn and Frank said, drive like you like it and I have no problem with that.
That means I will hit 40K by the end of summer! I put 80,000 on the 91 Steel Blue (#1430) in the seven years I had it. I didn't want to get out of it and took it every where, rain or shine. I believe it is still with Fred Mains.
There always will be collectibles, but for me, the real joy of owning this beast, is the driving. My wife Ann and I just can't get enough.:dancing

For clarification, this poll is for 90 - 95 factory built ZR-1 vetts.
Here is an incomplete list of cars that would not count:
1. you don't own the ZR-1 anymore
2. you have an LT5 in some other frame
3. you have a proto type car
4. you have a ZR-1 symbol on the side of you 65 VW bug.
Current low mileage claim is 100 - 1000 miles
Kevin Pietro (Polo-1) 1994 ZR-1
Current high milage claim is 200001 - 300k miles
Brett Henderson (Blue Flame Restorations) 1991 ZR-1

My car had 3,400 miles on it when I purchased it last August... Now, one year later, I am up to 8,500 miles and driving the car to work everyday it doesn't rain... A deer just totalled my wife's Jaguar XJR... so, my Z is now my everyday driver, and I am really enjoying the experience! So far I have avoided driving in any rain and hope the new XJR arrives soon so I don't have to drive her in the snow:censored:

This made me smile - I had the stereo and spakers rebuilt four years ago, and I never seem to leave it on for more than 5 minutes. The LT5 really makes unique music of its own.
I am at 33,824 Mi, up from 22,521 Mi when I bought #666 from the original owner in January 07. It might be an exaggeration to say I remember every mile, but not by much. I can't imagine ever parting with this amazing machine!

Bought my 90 in 2,000 with 4800 miles. Now it's 2016 with 12,000 miles. Have always loved the car, with kids all grown and now being retired I plan to drive it a lot more.
Hoping to take it to Mark Haibeck soon, have him go through it, add some extras, make it 100%. Someday before my son takes it over, I want to have put the 1st 100,000 miles on it.
