Yep Buzz has always had too much patience with people. He should have decked the guy several minutes earlier. =D>

Wow! Neat car! But climate controlled storage? Looks like it's been stored on the moon, which has no climate... so technically I guess, it's climate controlled.

Alright, good for Buzz. But was he advertising that he walked on the moon when he didn't? I don't remember if he did or not. I was just a wee lad then.

I try to be open minded about anything that has two sides to it.
I have difficulty understanding why someone with a sound mind
would hound another person with a different view let alone challenge
the moon walk.
I wonder how these nimrods explain away the laser reflecting devices left on the moon?

So he calls Buzz a coward then gets it in the face. Justified.

I admired Neil Armstrong since the days he was flying the X-15. But my real hero was Bob Hoover. The greatest pilot I have every seen. I met him a number of times in the 70's when I was working for Hughes Aviation and seen him fly his routine many times.

Notice toward the end of this video him pouring a glass of ice tea while doing a roll in his Shrike Commander!

Watching him fly was a thing of beauty! And a more humble man there never was! Or is.

When I was in the Marines stationed at Camp Pendleton (72-76), I'm pretty sure Bob Hoover flew into the airfield there. His entrance was upside down 10 feet off the deck. He was there to test the OV-10 Bronco engines. It had to be him, how many people fly lemon yellow P-51 Mustangs!!!

The ol boy is 90 now. The FAA pulled his medical a couple years ago, however, the Austrailian gov issued him an Aussie license so he is presumably still at it!!=D>

John, I think the FAA pulled his ticket about 10-12 years ago, but only because of his age. There was such an outrage from the aviation community that it was re-instated about a year later. As least that's the way I heard the story. I used to be a member of the CAF Ranger Wing in Waco, TX back then. I've seen Bob fly several times, including his dead stick aerobatic routine & landing. Pilots don't come any better than Bob Hoover.

I've been away from aviation for quite awhile & can't speak to his current status.

I think you are correct. I know they pulled it around 1995 then reinstated him. I can't recall when they pulled it last, but I remember reading an article about his fight with the feds in Flying Mag a couple of years ago, or what seems like a couple of years ago.

I have been out of aviation since 1977. However, I try and keep up with it as much as I can.
