To the best of my knowledge, stock except for K&N in stock box. 1990, 40K. Just dyno'd at 311. OBX headers and exhaust go on tommorow. As soon as I spring for a Marc chip I'll dyno again.

The dyno-sheet I got from Mike with the car, dated 1/1/10 shows:
rwhp: 401.3
rwt: 365.4
He told me these numbers were with one bad injector and it was never back on the dyno after he replaced all of them.
I have no idea of the mods on the car, rumored to have gone to LPE once and then to VetteDoctors at some time later in it's life. Looks like it's had a little top end polishing and he mentioned a bigger throttle body. It has 4:10's in the rear and a shorty shifter.
I do know that it has a habit of eating rear tires and large amounts of Premium...:-D

Ron, your turbos are mounted near the differential, if I recall? If so...can you tell us what kind of lag there is with tubes being so long?
And, are the tubes ceramic coated back to the tubos?
6-8# is what I've seen recommended for a max on 10:1 to 10:5 compression motors. 8# on a 9:1 should be pretty "safe", I suppose on stock rods. Any plans to boost it a bit more?
Are you using the stock ECM, or ??

It a 475 but does have a few other things done. Last Dyno was many years ago and put down 440 to the wheels. Looking to validate that number this Friday with an updated tune and Dyno session.

440 would need some big ports and maybe cams....who did the port work? Also depends on the Dyno....the fastest 350 puts down about 470+ with some massive porting..

In all seriousness the car is a bit of a mystery still. I cannot get Callaway to disclose all that they have done to this car. It was initially their development car for the Supernatural program. Here's what I've been able to piece together.
Fully ported heads, IH and upper plenum. I mic'd the IH and plenum at 35.56mm. The throttle body has also been ported and a big bore kit put in to make the TB a 63mm unit. There was some cam timing adjustments done but not sure to what extent.
Single mass flywheel, speedster exhaust( this is a 3" system all the way back to what are basically glass packs then exits center of the car with Callaway DD exhaust tips. Finally 3.92 gears.
The car was later tuned by Performance Associates in San Dimas, Ca. Where the car reportedly made 440rwhp on 91.
Again, I have a session with Corey this Friday to retune the car for 93 octane a new injectors. We'll see what happens. I personally am not chasing a number. I just want the car to be tuned. It's already a blast to drive.

I honestly don't know. I've exchanged several emails with Reeves and have only been given bits of info. According to the Callaway sales book. The SNATs all received a new crank, rods and piston for a lighter rotating assembly. The only only difference from the 490 cars and the 475 cars were the header cat that Callaway makes.
Fortunately I've been I touch with the first owner that purchased the car after Callaway was done with the development program and have a mound of documentation but not everything has been fully disclosed to either the first owner or myself. Adds to the mystery I suppose.
I think I will just start telling people that it has "Callaway Majic" inside. ;)

Clearly I need to port the top of the 91. At 77k or so:
335rwhp, will edit when I fish up the torque.
Watson headers, open lid with K&N, mish-mosh exhaust with a small "H", some randomly sourced cats (as opposed to Random) and a Borla last stage.
DRM chip was worth about 10 of those rwhps. Looking forward to ditching the secondaries and getting a catch can on the darn PCV stuff. And an aluminum flywheel, underdrives etc etc etc.
Cheers,

P.
Paul,
Yes, rear mounted turbo's. I don't feel the lag; she comes on strong around 3k rpm. The Jeal Headers are ceramic coated but not the pipes to the turbo's. Many think that heat energy is the key however it's more the kinetic energy that spins these rear turbo's. I may get some benefit by rapping the pipes but... 4-5#'s of boost for the stock LT5, 6-8 is for the LT1/4. With the 9:1 and the Head Studs we thought that 15 PSI was a good number. BTW, the stock valve springs are only good to 15 PSI. I plan to push up the boost once I upgrade the ECM. So yes, it's a stock ECM with a tune I bought from Mark Haibeck (from the single turbo car) and then had modified when I sent the car to Corey.
I'm in the middle of the ECM upgrade so hopefully I'll have a 15 PSI car by the Vegas Gathering. I'll also need to upgrade the turbo exhaust housings to get to the 15 PSI mark...

Final numbers are in....
Car started off as a Callaway Supernatural 475 (optimistic). From the previous owner and Callaway the follow items have been done.
Ported upper, IH and heads. Porting is not aggressive, approx 35.5mm. 63mm TB, ported throttle body horn, modified air lid. Callaway 3" exhaust with no center resonator and a funky "semi" X pipe. Mufflers are center exhaust glass packs used on the Speedster Twin Turbo cars. Stock headercat. 3.92 gears. Cams are re-timed to Callaway specification.
Single mass fly wheel
Lighter pistons
362rwhp on Callaway tune
377rwhp on Henderson tune, hot motor
SW headers, thermal coated and high flow random tech cats added...
403rwhp, Henderson tune, hot motor. 27.5 degrees of timing.
375rwtq
I think it would interesting to see what number it will lay down with a cold intake/ motor.
+26rwhp net with new headers and cats.
+41rwhp over my original starting point.
No t the most powerful car out there but when I start to think how old this car is and the power it makes for that era. It's pretty impressive.
Adding the SW headers was the perfect addition. The car has a high pitch exotic sound. My Car seems angry now for some reason. :)

I just got my car back from Marc after he did his Haibeck 510 package. Achieving 510 CHP would require about 433 RWHP by his 15% loss calculation. Mine actually Dyno'd at 413 RWHP/367 RWTQ. I did not install a Fidanza Flywheel and instead kept my old Dual Mass (because I often shift into neutral at stops and don't like the trans rattle), which cost 13 RWHP according to Marc. I also had him install ceramic cats which both helps the envrionment and softens the Corsa exhaust sound considerably. He said cats typically cost about 7-8 RWHP. So 413+13+7=433, so the porting, headers and cam timing seem right on. I had Marc put his 510 label on the engine since that is what it is if you just install a Fidanza and replace the cats with straight filler pipes. Which at some point I might just do.
Not going to beat Pete but a pleasant car to drive with a substantial boost over stock. As I have said before, a Gentleman's FBI car. Permagrin. Bob

To answer both questions at once: I have 4.10 gears which I think from a seat of the pants standpoint somewhat make up for the lack of the Fidanza flywheel even though the effect doesn't show up in Dyno numbers. And yes I did get the 63 mm TB. That is part of Marc's package. I have only driven it a little bit (it is still cold here) but I definitely look forward to playing with it a bit more soon. --Bob
