Always fun to blow up red ant dens and all kinds of other stuff, but this is totally wild!

Wow. They get some serious height on those barrels. What's the fuel?

Some of the organizer's, including the lead man Bob Lazar, do not live here anymore and I havn't heard of one of these being held in the last 5 or 6 years.

When the sun went down, and the show was getting ready to start, we always opened with a rendition of Jimmi Hendrick's Star Spangled Banner:

Outstanding. This would be a great family outing for my boys and me.

Desert Blast is one of those eclectic sort of things that I really like to do. A chunk of something blown up would go great with my arctic fox pelt from Alaska, the digeree-doo from Australia, miniature drilling rig, and the broken surf board from Pipeline Beach, North Shore, HI.

Who do you need to know to get an invitation?

I just had a phone conversation with one of the original organizers. He told me that Bob was now living back in Michigan. However, there is no reviving of Desert Blast. He told me that now a days it would be next to impossible to gather all the material to hold an event even close to what Desert Blast used to be. Such are the times we now live in.
However, he did tell me that he would let me know if they ever do revive it.

Thanks for the update on Desert Blast. I never got to drive through the really big Sequoyah tree in CA before it went down either. That's OK, I've still got Osh Kosh in my sights.

Yes, Osh Kosh would be cool! You got to fly in and camp under your wing!

We have an event in northern Nevada called "The Burning Man" . It is eclectic, but in a very different way! LOL
