I have had the dreaded 'no start' problem plaguing me so I decided I it was time for a new starter. I have just finished replacing the starter and now all I get is the selonid click. I have also replaced the battery and the cables are OK. What did I miss or do wrong?

if you get a click, we can probably rule out any of the usual no start things, like the clutch pedal switch, etc.

a click usually indicates a run down battery, or a poor connection somewhere. You need to double check all connections, which may mean pulling the plenum again to check all connections as well as checking for a clean aluminum (not painted) mounting surface on the starter. Poor grounding will cause the same issues.

I got it fixed. I replaced the + cable end at the starter and added another ground cable at one of the mounting bolts. It now fires right up:dancing
