paint code help....yellow or competition yellow

My 92 need a lil tlc where the stone chips have got to it but lm having trouble deciding what to believe

in 92 corvette yellow was just that...yellow...in various cosed l have found

in 93 corvette competition yellow was the name with different codes

this all assuming my car hasnt been repainted in comp yellow after it was repaired by previous owners

But my question is ....is there an actual difference between the two

hope fo speedy answer as lm trying to get paint tomorrow and dont want the wrong one

where can l find code on car?

UPDATE.....my build sheet just says 'yellow'...have l answered my own question?

I think the paint code is under the center arm rest lid.

In the 1990 model year RPO code 53U was paint code called Competition Yellow, In 1991 and 1992, RPO code 35U was paint code called Yellow. Then for 1993-1995, RPO 53U was used again and called Competition Yellow.

I am sorry that I can't help with what the actual colors were or if they really changed the color twice.
