I rejoined the registry this weekend online as I was instructed via email. I realize that people are busy and it takes time to have the info get to where it needs to be to unlock all the doors and such but who can I contact here to get access to the members only section of the forums?

Thanks for all the work you guys do.

Kevin, I sent an email to George Jones, he can send you the password for the members only area of the website. The members only area of the forum is maintained by Jim Voter.

I sent email to Jim too.

I received the email with the pw for the registry site, logged in there just fine. I was looking to get the members section here open again :)

Hi Kevin ... I'm arriving a little late to the party but glad you've got everything working now. Thanks for your patience.

tf95ZR1:

It is difficult to connect the personal information in the Registry Member data base with the mostly anonymous User ID's on the Forum.

If you PM or email me your real name so I can verify your membership status, I will promptly add Registry Members Only Section access to your Forum account profile.

Please see this thread for more info:

Jim, not sure if this is your area but I don't seem to be getting registry emails. I'm still getting zr-1 net emailS but not ones off the registry

Hi Kevin,
There are several ways for members to be contacted and it sometimes can be confusing, even for those of us who tend to work with it on a fairly frequent basis.

The Forum has a private messaging feature (PM) which can be used by anyone registered on the forum
The ZR1NET is a list serve for ZR-1 enthusiasts (it was an important communication tool prior to the Forum). It is open and can be joined by going to the NCM website and searching for list serves.
The ZR1NETREG is another list serve for Registry members only. Registry members are added to this list serve and if they fail to renew membership, are deleted. Only board members can initiate email and it is used to send important info, updates, etc. I think the last time I sent a global email via the ZR1NETREG was on Feb. 29 when the login information to the Members Only area was changed. We don't send emails unless necessary and therefore the activity on the ZR1NETREG can be infrequent.
Private email ... unless there's a need to send the same info to all members simultaneously, we email individually & privately as needed

Obviously it is important that members keep us updated of any email changes so that we can keep the membership informed of membership renewals, upcoming events, and other important info. Hope this helps answer any questions you have about email. Please let me know if you have additional questions or if I haven't addressed all of your questions.

I would think that as membership is paid, the payee is automatically added to the data base.
It also seems like A LOT of extra work to have to add each account, one at a time, when requested.

Very perceptive ... and glad you brought it up. Indeed, as the Registry has grown in many different ways over the past several years we've allowed some of our growth to be a "patching" up of existing elements within the organization. We are currently studying & working hard to implement new procedures & software to streamline & automate all aspects of the Registry in order that all members receive the best possible service and without delay.

While some of the things are done quasi-automatically, many processes still require human intervention and we are all VOLUNTEERS who occasionally have to devote time to our jobs, families, etc. As Membership Director it is my personal goal to respond to all requests, emails, etc. within 24 hours (and normally do) but sometimes that's not always possible. And sometimes, in an expectation of "instantaneous" everything, we receive an email within 30 minutes of a member renewing/joining inquiring "where their stuff is".

Anyway, please note that the board recognizes that we can improve the Registry and we're working hard toward that end. Again, thanks for your comment ... and perceptive observations.

Hi George!
I wasn't complaining, just thinking that membership meant members only
access. I assumed automatically, but you know what "assumed" means!
I appreciate all the time and effort spent to keep things running. Its a
lot of work, different personalities, often a thankless job, especially as volunteers.
I figure we are all (ZR-1) brothers & sisters in it for the cars,
so good job!
:saluting:

PS Hey, since we are family, can I borrow some $$$?
