The manual states we have a 10PA17 A/C compressor. Is this an R4 or 86? The reason I ask, is when ordering a vintage air system for my project, I can get the entire kit without the compressor and brackets which would not fit the LT5 anyway. Instead they offer an adaptor for GM compressors already on your engine. The tech said it is for a GM R4 or 86 compressor. I don't know what that means and I cannot find those references yet in my manuals. Can anybody enlighten me? Thanks!

An R4 compressor is the older style Harrison / Gm compressor that looks like this:

Our compressor is a Denso style. Not really sure about the "86" designation.

Andrew.is correct.its a Denso unit for all ZR-1 MYs
