Hi Everyone:
Would an electric water pump installation be possible on an LT5? Would it help solve the over 5000 RPM cavitation and lack of cooling at extended high RPMs? Any thoughts are welcome...

my understanding is that the higher rpm lack of cooling is dependent on the flow through the radiator, hence the "bypass" tube in the cooling system. I was under the impression that the pump that Lotus spec'd for the LT5 was capable of far more flow than the GM-spec'd radiator was capable of managing.
I've never seen an electric pump for the LT5...

Pete, Kevin, and I believe possibly Al and maybe Bob G are using 'lectrics.
As I recall, Pete said he estimates approx 7-12 hp can be gained at WOT by making the switch to the electric; definately on my wish list...
Must be an FBI thing. It's a secret, so doan chew tell nobody, heaha?;)

wow, news to me... they've been pretty hush-hush about it, I guess.
I have been using ELectric Water Pump for about 4 years.
It's been working great for me.
I use a Stewart 55 GPM pump.

I do remember Pete did shared info about this a few years ago. Sounds like a great tech article for the HOTB and another secret how to achieve low 11s on a 350. Pete you are like an Einstein for the LT5!

Pete....when you ran an .04 and an .09, what was the air like?
What tire did you use on the back?
What's your axle?
What's the car weigh?
Pete....when you ran an .04 and an .09, what was the air like?
I don't know what the DA was on those days from what i can remember temps were either low 40's or low 50's, i never look at the DA when i go racing, the day at BG from what i remember was 80 maybe somebody that was at BG that year can refresh my memory and post up.
What tire did you use on the back?
Drag Radials with stock front wheels/tire size.
What's your axle?
11.04 & 11.09 passes were with stock rear gears 3.45
The Bowling Green run was with 4.10's
What's the car weigh?
I have done all the weight savings mentioned in Marc H's. site plus a few of my own i.e.94-95 door penals, sliders for stock seats etc. last time i checked she was about the same as C6 ZO6.
And....what is your shift point rpm?
Peak HP is 6800,shift light is set at 7200
