I would very much like to have headers on my Z but being that i live in the socialist state Kalifornia, I do not want to run the risk of not passing my next dreadded smog exam... That being said, anybody know of california emissions legal headers for a 94 LT5?

The older version of Watson headers had the AIR tubes connected to them. That will probably get you past the somg Nazis. The problem is going to be finding a set. They are around.

Patton, I don't think the headers would be the problem, but the cats definitely will. I think a set of headers with Random Technology hi flow cats should pass. I also remember someone saying these cats cost them less than ten hp. If that is true than that would by no means negate the gain from the headers. I live in Ma. so that will most likely be the road I take.

Some "Lurkers" believe that the random cats cost no HP lost on 350CI LT5's.. The route I am taking is SSW headers w/ swain coating, and random 3" bullet cats.

The problem w/ cali is they look for the airtubes and all other emission equipment... I think your only option is to find a set with the tubes, or
just hope they don't recognize they are missing...

Well, since some of those "Lurkers" really know their stuff, that is great news. Now that you mention the visual check on emissions, I think you're right. The thing is that some places charge a little more, but the funny thing is they seem to be less observant. As long as the cats are there, I think everything should be on par with the sniffer. Or at least I hope so.

Thanks alot guys, I appreciate all your advice!
I found some shorties on the Lingenfelter site that is 50 state legal and has the AIR tubes, I believe they use Hooker stuff. As for the cats, I have no education on the different options yet so I have some homework to do!
Thanks again!
