I obviously have some downtime while awaiting my parts. Being color blind, I asked the guy for all his silver colors and then used the eenie meanie miney moe method and was a little worried, but I think it came out okay...certainly better than it was. Sorry about the size, I'm not the most computer literate.

Thanks guys, I was blown away. I brought him a few hunks of greasy metal complete with porting chips scattered about.. IH, plenum, coolant pipe and throttle body (disassembled). Not exactly prepped by me..I expected there would be some flaws, and there probably is, but i haven't noticed any yet.

Here's his information from google, which is how I found him: His name is Carlos. Very nice person to do business with.

Now that is great looking!:jawdrop:

Nice work for sure! They will look great on your motor. (shameless plug for Carter here:o ) Carter's engraving on the coolant pipes and his T/body billet plate would complete the picture!

Sorry for the way I spend other people's money, but Carter's stuff is icing on the cake for an LT5! just look!

Your plenum came our really good- I think you worked them deeper than I did. Most of my arthritic inducing work was spent on the I/H's.

Tom, thanks, I am really out of the green stuff right now...They would certainly complement the engine. I am definitely going that way but I have to get my cam covers done as a priority, which I think will happen in the next couple months assuming the engine is going to run okay.

Thanks Mike, You said it..Arthritis inducing! My left hand is still numb and fingers are still tingling and I finished about 3 weeks ago. I really wasn't finished, I just had to say enough is enough. On the IH, I could have taken more off around the injectors, but I was too afraid I'd get leaks and make things worse than they were before I started.

I'm gonna get it back together, hopefully work out whatever bugs show up and then, when my hands heal up, tear back down and finish the job at the heads/IH matching....and hopefully some Carter Bling.

Sam, it's all good and thanks for not being sore at me for plugging Carter's work in your thread. Good luck with your project and I hope it comes out the way you want it to.:handshak:

Yea what Ricky said!:) It's all your fault Rick that i spend money on this stuff!:handshak:

Sam just one more picture on the oil filter cover. I want to show you one of the small details that makes Carter Da Man when it comes to being a pro....oh, and a link to my bucket page just in case you want to look at the stuff when it's actually on the car!:o

http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc123/tomZR1/IMG_0389.jpg

I don't know how well it shows up here, but Carter machines a small relief at the opening to account for the rolled bottom edge of the oil filter. His cover fits like .... well you know what it fits like!

:o I forgot the link! http://s215.photobucket.com/albums/cc123/tomZR1/

here is the only shot I think I have of Carter's stuff on my car.

I didn't have the T/Body plate or water tubes at this time. I was working up to them!

Carter is the MAN! if you can think it chances are he can machine it! I have a ton of his stuff on my car and I always get compliments at car shows on the quality of the peices. My wheel center caps were so perfect that I had two judges trying to figure out if they were stock or not. Great job so far on your engine keep up the good work. when you pop the hood and see that engine it makes it all worth the time/$$

I guess I need to start my wish list. You guys gotta know I'm salivating. I'm really putting money where I shouldn't right now..even the pc plenum was over the top in my budget. Next step is going to be to pc the cam covers with Lee's emblems and a Carter TB LT5 plate. Subtle but effective for now.

Who has pictures of the wheel caps? What do they say zr-1? I think the originals are plastic no? So are carters made from billet?

good stuff. thanks for the replies and the bling suggestions.

Correct they are billet and have the ZR-1 logo engraved into them. I pc'd mine and painted the logo to match my wheels other have left well enough alone. Either way they look great. :handshak:
