I hit the seatback recline button today, and it seems to no longer work. Instead I felt a buldge under my left thigh. I suspect the motor is swinging free or something, any tips before I dig in to look? Thanks!

I got it sorted out. I pulled off the lower cushion, which is really easy to do. The motor was simply encountering a lot of resistance, causing it to torque up a bit such that I could feel it. I lubed the pivot points and cleaned up the threaded shaft it moves and now the seat back moves just fine.
I did the same on the passenger side and noticed it has more slop where the shaft hits the seatback, so I'm wondering if I can tighten that up. But the seat moves fine, the slop just results in some dead spots when moving it one way or the other initially.

I just used regular GM Super Lube on the pivot points. And I used chassis grease on the screw drive, currently Mobil 1 grease in the gun.

Just wanna say thanks for the heads up on that maintenance tip, Bob!
I did a little pre-emptive cleaning & lubing on the driver's....next is the pass side! Man those motors sound like they suck up the juice!
Thanks!

Yeah, they sounded a lot better once I lubed it up. To get the bottom cushion off is really easy. The manual explains it but there's just a bracket on the bottom. Press down on the front center of the cushion, push the bracket back, and the it comes right off. There are wires connected, but you can easily swing it out of the way to lube the screw drive thing.
