I had always thought the flashing 'sys' was related to a battery dying. When mine started I pulled it and had it checked and it was ok. I cleaned all the grounds (including the fusable resistors) but still get the flashing 'sys'. Any other things to check.

I found out (when I rebuilt my steering column) that if the airbag fuse isn't in place, the sys comes up on the digital readout and the car won't start. I thought it was vats related...but anyways, just one other possible check.

The IP flashes "SYS" when there are CCM codes set.
In the FSM, in the CCM section are instructions on how to get the IP to display CCM codes.

You still might have an internal short in the battery under load. However a recent change to an Aftermarket Radio system can cause the same message.

Typically the stereo issue is only a problem in the manual AC cars, since the automatic climate control LCD readout provides enough load in the circuit that the missing stock radio LCD doesn't upset the CCM.
I've noticed that it comes on if someone took out a warning light in the info center, or the bulb burned out.

Bingo, I removed the bulb for the shock system since that bulb was always on. Guess I will have to put it back in to check.
Thanks
