I have a set of LTPWS sensors that came on a set of 1988 Prototype wheels. There is a decal on the outer rim that says "TIRE_TELE, IMPERIAL CLEVITE, INC.

Is this the brand that GM went with. When I compare it to sensors from 1992, they look the same.

Just curious??

Thanks Dave. That's pretty neat because these wheels are dated Jan 88. Probably one of the first sets for development.

If it has an FCC #, type it in this website and get the dates.

Use it off and on for various searches and cross ref. items.

Hi Brett,

Sensors from ’90 and ’91 ZR-1’s are marked, “Epic Technologies Inc. Copyright 1986” on the circuit board inside the sensor.

’89 was the first year that they were offered as an option on the Corvette. The ’89 to ’92 sensors operated on 245 mhz. I recall a story that the Canadian government had a problem with that frequency so GM changed it to 355 mhz in ’93.

I believe that GM’s first use of tire pressure sensing was on the Corvette.
