Thrown around several ideas.....I thought it would be fitting with the Stillwater plant closing, and if any of the team would be open to using their name.. as a tribute

Lee,
Pretty cool idea. Do you just have dreams of this stuff? I mean when you are sleeping instead of "ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ" it is "ZZZZZZZZZZZZZR-1"? Keep em' coming...........

Not a bad idea, there Lee! Are you thinking a stick-on label or an aluminum "name plate" attaching to the cover, or an entire replacement for the cover...??
The name plate - black anodized with etched lettering/numerals?
I'm sure it would sell, and be a nice tribute to Merc.

This would be made of brass and same thickness as emblems and same quality; I would look into having factory stamp the model year and dates or see if I can do them.
Hell Maybe we can talk Jerry into having the factory workers sign them with a etch pen

I just need to work out the wording and see if anyone from the plant is interested in getting signature on the plaque....also I need to see what I can do about the numbering.......
I think if we do a preorder they might be able to number them
Other option is for me to get a stamp set from harbor freight and do them myself

IF they tell me to stop, I would in a heartbeat....I don't really profit on this once you calculate the time put in and mailing, etc.....I did note mercruiser allows you to download their logo for personal use lets face it....if I sell 50 I would be surprised and I am not selling something as their product so much as documenting the history of the engine...

4 digit for 90/91
3 for 92-95

They are shooting for April 18 as a ship date, I have to pay for a 2nd molding since the spacing was wrong(their fault but not going to argue at this point)....sorry for delays....
I know I should send this in a PM.:o But no one ever said I was smart!
Lee, I am willing to eat some of the cost if you want to dilute it over the quantity you are making on this run. I'm speaking for myself naturally. Just saying.....ah heck maybe just shut up, sorry.:o

Thanks for the offer, but I am good.....I just hate these delays and this is why I never do pre-orders.....hate to have people waiting. You guys are great, the mold fee doesn't kill me and I think this is a product I will be abe to sell over time....

"HECK NO" we had a deal. Just kidding Lee. If you need a little more cash it is easier for all of us to absorb some of the cost if needed.

Don't be shy Lee. No reason to have the other work take up any shortfall on this. Just say the word and let the rest of us make up the difference. Everyone pulling their load makes this forum work so well with everything. I never would have been able to figure out my Z's issues if it had not have been for the help and knowledge of the other members.:handshak:

I kind of partial to my hand stamp....looks like a block stamp....the one from the manufacturer is much "cleaner" and I think most would like it better
