I am in the process of installing headers and when the manifold came down it yanked this blue wire off of this plug. I'm not sure how to get the plug off in order to fix it. I think I am going to have to reattach the wire somehow.
You are looking at a plug that stick straight down under the drivers side of the motor.

there is a little cap I swung down but it won't let out that orange thing or the wire. I am wondering how to get the whole plug off. It spins around freely, but won't pull out.

squeeze the side of the connector to remove. (Where its kinda flat)

That is the knock sensor. Sqeeze the wide ends together and pull. Once removed, solder and hot shrink should solve your problem. This wire is exposed to extreme heat and will become brittle and break. Happened to me too.

thanks guys...i just found it in the manual...so I soldier the old wire to this nubby one and shrink wrap it, call it a day.
Is there a way to get a new connector? I might need a little more wire to work with. It left me like 1/8"
Yes, Knock sensor leads are available, probably at the dealership & I would expect at A-zone or similar store.

are these knock sensor connectors the same as what would be found on an LT1?

well that's all soldiered up, so hopefully it works and the signal will transmit. Going to be a pita if it doesn't

Look for this:
ACDelco part nos. PT308 or PT2295.
About 10$ each.
Is the gray connector assembled with some inches of wire, and you can solder it inside your wiring harness.
