In my focus to get the engine torn down and get the secondary throttle valve system taken out, I didn't notice that my primary injectors have been replaced at some point (the secondarys look to be original) The primary injectors look to be exactly like the Accels that I just bought (they could be a different brand that look exactly the same though). I am going to put the new Accels in, but seems a waste if the ones in the car have been replaced already.
Do the Accels go bad like the original ones did? I have no way of knowing when they were replaced, the car has 133k miles on it.
Is there any way to check those injectors so at least I could sell them or have a set of 8 spares?
The symptoms for the car were horrible stumble/misfiring on hard acceleration, but if I accelerated lightly, it would "come on the pipe" so to speak...albeit, I'm sure it wasn't the full power that it could have, it would break into a nice smooth hard pull. Car also has a misfire at idle which makes it sound like a knock which i've described before but as you all have pointed out to me, it's probably a misfire and the flywheel making that noise.
Looks like one of the coils was replaced at some point, it's different than the rest, no numbers on the top. I am going to replace them all with factory originals if I can find them, and if they aren't prohibitive.
