After three and half years and 12,000 miles I have to inform you Brothers, that I have gotten rid of the "REL1C".
I will always have an affinity for the C4 platform, because an '89 coupe was my first Corvette, but the time had come to let it go. I will still be around, because I am not totally Vetteless.
I want to say thanks again to those who have assisted me over the last years with locating parts, giving advice, and helping with repairs. I keep everyone's numbers, because somewhere in the back of my mind, I know the REL1C won't be the only ZR-1 I will ever own.

It was a lot of fun. I got rid of my daily driver (2000 Chrysler w/170k miles) and the ZR-1 and bought a new Suburban LTZ. The kids really like the entertainment system and the captains seats! It was a little tough letting it go, but sometimes in order to move forward, you have to take a step back. :-D
As stated before, I'm not without a Corvette, I guess my Z06 will just have to suffice for now.

Once a Z brother always a Z brother Joe! The Z06 community is lucky to still have ya. I'm sure we will be getting a steady dose of you in the pages of the Corvette Museum Magazine/GQ/Muscle&Fittness, doing your modeling thing

Being a Michigander, I can understand the reasoning behind selling her. The Economy of our State has been pathetic since the turn of the century. I am going to look at a 92 Zr-1 at Shaheen is that your car?

I offered them 10k cash out the door, I thought that was a reasonable offer. I thing there are major repairs with the ride control. If it was something minor why wouldn't they have fixed it? Who knows.

Great to hear from you Will. I just took delivery of a 1995 Bright Aqua

I've had my 2007 Z06 since October of 2006. The '92 ZR-1 was a great opportunity to own a historical Corvette, but I knew I would want another. Just took delivery of my '95 ZR-1 this evening!

I will Tom. I didn't think I would get another ZR-1 so soon, but like I said
before, sometimes you have to take a step backwards to move forward. The new car is awesome and I'm looking forward to the trip to the Gathering next year!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I'm a driver, nothing against those that trailer their cars, I just enjoy driving my cars too much to have them tied down on a trailer.

I Know of at least three other ZR-1's in my club that could be interested. Lets's work on getting a group from Michigan to do this coming year. The guy who bought my old car said he would be interested as well.

Hi Joe,
I'm sorry to hear that you sold your ZR1. I enjoyed meeting you last May in BG. I understand about the kids and the Suburban though. These cars get in your blood and when the time is right, and the right car shows up, well you'll be back. The Z06s are awful nice too.
Best regards, George

Yep! Funny how life works out sometimes. The '95 is awesome and I will have it at the Gathering this year. The guy who bought my '92 from the dealership lives just over an hour away from me. I will trying to get him to the event this year as well, he seems interested.

:dancingWay to go, Joe!!:dancing I know you will enjoy the car.....but isn't that a turq???
JThomas
04-16-2012, 09:57 PM
Nope, it is called Bright Aqua. It is deeper than the turquoise and has a blueish/green hue. The color was used from '92 through '95. A total of 54 cars were painted this color and in '95 only 13 were painted.
So I went from a high miler, most popular color, in Bright Red. To a low miler, second to last popular color over the entire ZR-1 production. This is the "Gem" I have been looking for.
See you in Bowling Green!
