I'd say go with like a gunmetal if you don't want black. Or a black chrome.

Personally I wouldn't do a carbon fiber look.

My opinion means nothing but I think black wheels on any car regardless of the color looks terrible. I love polished aluminum then silver then chrome.

I would prepare those and have them powder coated silver.

OK,..FYI I took the pic after sanding them for a bit.....!

???.....what if I leave it to the registry....???

1. Painting them the same color they were defeats the purpose since the 1991 ZR-1 didnt come with these wheels anyway..lets be creative....

2. How about black crinkle with red etched ZR-1 in the wheels?

3. White???

4. black chrome?

5. Chrome/polished might be a little played out

6. remember the car is white with a red stripe and red interior!..

I await your input...:worship:

If you want something different with your white/red theme, how about white color matched powdercoating with ZR-1 painted center caps or something like that. Some might not like it, but it you do then it is cool and all that matters. I think it might not be bad. Someone said black wheels suck on anything, but I don't think so. It would be cool to play around with Photoshop or something and I wish I knew how to do that.

American Racing has several wheels in their truck line that have a semi-gloss black teflon coating that makes them easy to clean up. I think it would look good on an A-Mold, but its probably some proprietary mix they won't share.

Great input!,...Hmmmm

The flat black A-molds trouble me,..well heres an Idea I use..

Plasti-dip spray.....spray on:...."It Looks Like S*&T!....PEEL OFF MOVE ON!
"It looks AWESOME!....Leave on or use same color paint!

I use this for all designs on the vette or other when it comes to white black or red.

I have painted one of the wheels with flat black and Im not sold..

but gloss black with red tape looks good!!!!!....getting closer....

My intentions with my "Gloss Black 5-spokes" is an 1/8" red stripe in the recess of the flange very near the edge of the wheel. I've taped it a couple times and liked it. The "sign guy" is supposed to "brush it"!

My center caps are in black with the ZR-1 engraved in the original font. They don't photograph well but when done in silver they photograph very well. Steve Horton has the same in silver that he's used on his 5-spokes and also his Dymags. The same engraver did his and mine.

If you're interested in being very conversational in a '94 MY sales brochure I believe there is a ZR-1 with the ZR-1 "engraved/machined" into a single spoke. I've had the art in my hand several years ago. I have an extra set of 5-spokes and have meant to investigate the work from an engraver. It's very "slick"! Steve I believe has the art.

YES...exactly,..I have done the exact thing to the wheels,..gloss black and ran red paint the in the recess(not easy!),...I would love to see what your center caps look like and any leads on a emblem,...!

Black chrome would look awesome,.. just not sure how to pull it off!

I did a semi gloss on the Fikse wheels on the GS and it was very easy up keep and looked good. I like the semi gloss and matte finishes, something different.

This is a great idea if you aren't sure and want to test it out. Apparently you can even paint over plasti-dip.

But it is a very flat black, not gloss.

I plasti-dipped the chrome on the front of my car, it worked very well and can be left permanent. But I can also peel it off if I ever change my mind, and the chrome didn't have to get scuffed up or etched for it to stick.
