Glad to hear of another one up here in the Northeast. Where in Mass? I am near Devens, in fact I'm hoping to get to an event at the old airfield Sunday. Come by sometime! Unfortunately that club won't allow rides but some of them do!
Best of luck with the new ride,

Congrats!
You will be very excited on the delivery!!
Make sure that the car is exactly as it should be before you "sign off" on the paperwork.
Damage during shipping does occur sometimes and you need to inspect the car really carefully. It happens less with a quality organization.
Naturally, the driver will want to get on his/her way. I always give him a tip of $50 and then go over the car with a fine toothed comb before I sign off on the paperwork.
Also I would have a "jumper pack" with you. I had my car show up once and the battery had died. It was at a tuner for a long time and then took a week to get to me. Naturally the battery was weak to begin with. Being you bought the car from someone else, the battery might not be the best and not all drivers are equipped with battery packs, jumper cables etc except most will have it.

The Z has arrived safe and sound.......the car was the last one on the trailer and was all the way forward on the top tier.....I couldn't really see it from my street level location when he lowered the door.....but when I heard that LT5 fire up from inside the trailer for the first time....MAN!!....my face just lit up!.....the growl just sounded awesome!.......and then when he backed it out onto the ramp and I got my first glimpse....well..lets just say....I now know what you guys have been talking about. These cars are SICK!......why did I wait so long..haha
Now to get her registered, insured etc and go for a real ride.....:dancing

Awesome pic Kevin, but I agree, we really need more of them. I love seeing such a nice car just as it came back in the day...and yes that means with the GSC's. ...But that's just me:dontknow:

Traction control? Didn't the good Lord put that in our right foot? Thats right the newer ones had supplemental traction control to help us from burning up our tires. The permagrin has started, it will only get bigger! Enjoy a fine machine!

Looks Great. I'm partial to black myself. Looks like you have some awesome weather and will be able to go for a drive right away. When I got mine delivered it was Mid February. I had to wait for weeks for the ice and snow to melt off. That was pure torture.

i've never had a late model zr-1 with the keyless entry but it could be an updated version of the brass key ring that came with the early cars so you could take the power key off. I'm sure Demps or someone else can give you the correct info

That is the ZR-1 key ring. Some people add a ring to each end then you can easily detatch the power key when you get in the car.

it's not stock

What bottle????
the bottle that holds the nitrous oxide that your car may have had in the past
Didn't want to post this before.
Pull your plugs. Note what brand and heat range the plugs are. Number each plug to the proper cylinder and READ each of the plugs. If you have any problem reading the plugs take pictures of each one and post them here.
Good news is if the NOS was applied correctly. And it may well have been , there will be no problem.

Must be part of the alarm.....I just emailed the seller for answers......I highly doubt the original 73 yr old owner would have installed nos in a 3k mileage car....

you'd be surprised by the people i've seen spray their low mileage cars.
but with that "key" switch i'm going to assume it's an alarm, honestly i'd prefer it to be spray. those after market alarms can be hell

i agree...it is most probably an alarm system, but you will want to find out either way. Hell, if that NOS system is still in there it could be a ton of fun. There seems to be two switches and 4 lights. I'd be real curios what each light meant. Could it be a dual stage NOS system 9two (red LED's) system powered (white light) system spraying (green light). I am just guessing. Most alarms don't have all those lights. Is there a shift light on it somewhere? I once saw a kit that puts a little shift light in you air conditioning vent above the radio.

it would have to be a really small bottle to still be hidden.

i there was a system you may on;y find the fittings and lines. The bottle could be gone.

Key looks like an alarm.
Two position knob in console looks like a KD40 radar detector control switch.

haha....almost......I'm still waiting for the sellers reply but the radar detector/alarm may be more feasable.....theres no evidence of ever any nos anywhere on the car.....I'm just not getting the disc where the ashtray should be....looks like it belongs there ...like it came from the factory this way...... a flux capacitor perhaps??....
http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c17/58powerwagon/Corvettearrives009.jpg
Kevin
10-26-2011, 11:50 AM
that disk is not a factory option, could be an alarm...also looks like a n20 kit piece. let us know what the previous owner says

it is supposed to be two cup holders. One would normally have a circular removable ashtray and the other a circular rubber thing for securing a soda can I guess.

Yep... Demps is correct, KD40 Laser/Radar detector....found this located under the front plate...

we have a ton of those K-Band neighborhood slow down signs with a 2 digit display showing your speed. Could try to hit one up if you have those.
(btw, they won't show your speed over 60 mph just in case you want to game it up to 99)
