While taking apart the heat/ac box from the 90 today, to repair it, I compared the blower side of the box to a regular Corvette unit. The left side is 99.9% identical. Only one screw boss is in a different place and not really even noticable.

When I repair the ZR1 side of the box, I am going to go ahead and make a mold of it so there can be a source for this hard to find piece. The small top cover is also ZR1 specific. I'll make a mold of it as well.

At least there will be a source for these parts. Regular heat/ac boxes are dirt cheap and we will be able to be convert them if need be.

Thank you for all your efforts in making cars like mine with relatively high mileage and possibly needing work and/or parts a viable project and highly desirable!!!!

Finally got time to do the project. Now, we have the inboard side of the heater (evaporator) box as a repro. Both pieces. Small top cover and inboard side of the box.

I did this because my 90 unit was broken and I needed to repair it. Just repaired it and made new molds of the unit(s).

Let me know if you ever need one. These pieces can be used with the normal Corvette blower motor side of the box that mounts to the firewall. Just remove the inboard piece and attach these pieces. Bingo! You then have a ZR-1 specific assembly.
