I am working on a performance issue and while testing, I used the Tech 1 to monitor throttle position.

With the accelerator fully depressed to the floor, the Tech 1 shows Throttle Position is 84% and TPS signal is 3.7 volts.

This is a late model ZR-1 with ASR.

Is there a procedure to set or adjust the accelerator cable to the ASR or to adjust the Throttle cable to get 100% throttle opening.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I think that I found the procedure. Trying it now.

Please standby....

Is this not adjusted at the PROM level?

I know Dom plays with the BIN value tables for different throttle positions

Didn't our friend "Sammy" have some kind of issue with one of his ZR1's last year and found some way to adjust the ASR cable?
I'll have to go searching, but I remember something along those lines.

Standing by. But it is a physical adjustment of a fully functional TPS. There are orbital screw holes in the TPS.

Jim,

You need to adjust the throttle cable. At WOT, the TPS volts should be some where around 4.7v. I was having similar issue although it turned out to be the cable not fully seated in the throttle cam.

I successfully completed a mechanical adjustment of the Accelerator and Cruise Control Cables.

The instructions are in the ABS/ASR System Chapter (page 5E2-137 in 1994) of the FSM.

This picture shows the adjustment mechanism:

The procedure has 11 steps and there are two different versions (early and late 1994) but basically there is a release button or tab that allows the cable sheaths to be pulled "apart", lengthing the total. Then the accelerator is pushed to the floor and the cable sheath automatically repositions to the correct length. After doing the procedure, the Tech 1 shows the throttle operating properly from 0% to 100%.

I highly recommend checking for full throttle operation on all LT5's. I haven't looked at the 1990 FSM to see if there is a similar procedure for non-ASR cars. I will check tomorrow.

you might want to ck the throttle cable end is squarely in its place . mine got kinda kinked somehow and caused the low percentage around 80% .it shouldnt be off that far normally unless something like the above has happened . you have a pm

Help me check mine?

Absolutely!!

This will be a standard feature at all WAZOO WMD's.
