I ditched the noisy KDW's today, they still had 4/32" left but they have really gotten loud.
I decided to splurge and get what is, by most accounts, the best street tire on the market:

I have high expectations for them, and we'll see if they live up. So far after only a few miles, the most obvious difference is the lack of noise. Both the annoying drone of the KDW's, but also any noise at all under cornering. I even have rolled into the gas while taking some fairly tight 90-degree turns, and not a peep from the tires, nor a flash of the "Traction" indicator on the dash. Previously it was very easy to engage the traction control in a tight turn, even when in a steep gear.
They are supposed to be lighter than other tires as well, by several pounds. I can't say I noticed it when installing them, though I didn't weight them either.
I know it's no ZR-1, but thought it might make Phil take notice. ;)
