The Pacific Region of the ZR-1 NetRegistry has set the dates for The ZR-1 Triathalon, our first ZR-1 meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Triathalon event is preliminary to an annual ZR-1 Gathering--West to be held in the fall and is in planning stages as we speak.
The ZR-1 Triathalon will be held March 29 thru April 2, 2006 to accomodate the three events that will make up the event. The "King of the King of the Hill" will be crowned after Drag Races, Kart Racing and Road Racing at Spring Mountain in Pahrump, Nevada. Additional non-points events will include a fabulous 13 mile run through the beautiful Red Rock Canyon cruising around Las Vegas along with a ZR-1 Car Show. So far the schedule will be Indoor Kart Racing (29 and/or 30 March), Drag Racing at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (31 March) and Road Racing (1&2 April). You can enter any number of events or come cheer them on. This will be an awesome event for all ZR-1er's and we want to see as many Pacific Region folks as possible! Do you have what it takes to be crowned King of the King of the Hill?
We will have sign in and a Welcome dinner at the Cannery Hotel and Casino, March 29, 2006. The Cannery will be our headquarters. Reservations can be made from now to March 8 at (866)999-4899 or (702)507-5700. Tell them you are with the ZR-1 Gathering and you get a room for $69 bucks. We have 95 rooms! NOTE: Rooms reserved after March 8, 2006 will be charged a higher rate.
We are having the Road Racing at the new Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch track in Pahrump, Nevada, (45 minutes from Vegas)in conjunction
with Corvette Track Days event at the same time. They only allow 80 cars so make your reservations ASAP. Go to their website at www.springmountainmotorsports.com or call them at (775)727-6363 for directions and information. The cost is $250 for Sat and Sun all day racing including a
steak dinner on Sat night. ($20 for the steak for
non-drivers.) Some may want to stay in Pahrump Sat night. There are many motels, but Best Western OK in my experience.
Other details and reservation information for all activities will be on the ZR-1 NetRegistry site soon. Uly Uplinger, guinessdood@yahoo.com; Gary Patterson, garyp@shelbyautos.com; Jerry Schubert,
GSchub1469aol.com; Breck Alberts, keyson@aol.com; Ron Hanselman, ratf16@ MSN.com; and Bob Cope, rsc@auto-graphics.com can help with questions or comments.
