The Z is throwing code 31 off and on for awhile now. Does anyone have a source for these? I sent Chris May @ Superior an email but he hasn't got back to me. I may be on borrrowed time here.
Thanks in advance

I thought Lee (LGAFF) had found/bought one somewhere..
Kurt White shows these PNs:
10137658, 10096172
Kurt also has a $296.xx I am pretty sure Lee paid a lot less

I'll toss this out here as a fwiw....my car used to do 31's at random and very frequently when I first got it. Okay so I figured I needed a sensor, after all it was 15 yrs old, right? Then I thought, wait a second...it's a magnet, no moving parts. I used contact cleaner & dielectric grease on the connector, both sides and still it would throw 31 randomly, but less frequently.
:o My final solution was when I start the car I turn the key to "on", watch everything light up & go out and then go to the "start" position and start her up. I haven't had a 31 since using that method. Strange, I'm thinking with age the air gap changes somehow? I'm thinking now that maybe I should have pulled it out and cleaned the face of the magnet? I don't know for sure what I should have done? It just bugs me that it's a dang magnet with no moving parts so how long does a magnet last? Or is it an electromagnet, and if it gets sludge on it's face will it need to be cleaned? :o

Thanks Tom for that info. It makes good sense. I have an old email from Marc H. that adresses the sensor. He talks about the fact it can only be checked when it codes and then with a scope. Something about a '''wave function'' as *I* recall. My guess is that it is an electromagnet??? I'll have to dig out that email..

I paid a lot less than Lee but the source is on my home computer (I saved the link). Real obscure web site. Almost half of what Lee paid. I had to sign up for an account and it I thought well this was a gamble. But the part showed up lol. I will post up when I return late Thursday of next week. GC

Just a standard oil resistant O-Ring. Just take to a hardware store and match up.

Napa Auto part # 801207 $4.00 It is an assortment of "O" rings for air conditioning repair. Just match your old O ring with one of those in the kit. Works great.
Above info .....Thanks to one of the members.
