John,i took these off my Z about 4 years ago it was all working properly when they came off.
I would suggest for the price buy both you'll get the switch's w/wiring and plastic track covers.

I will throw in the Balancer or minus $25 from price.

It's a 1991 bracket.
These parts came out of my 1991 Z they were in good working order when they came off,reason why i saved everything.
Antenna comes with the bracket.
How's $30 to your door.

The springs are stock no mods.
I don't see why you couldn't machine our flywheel,you just need to find a shop that machines BMW flywheels.
I think there was a discussion on this a while back,on the list serv.
