He put some really poor pictures up on his auction, but I imagine it will still sell since the delamination does not look too bad.

This windshield has been on Ebay numerous times before and has never sold. The previous times that it was listed showed better pictures and the delamination is worse than is shown currently and I believe that is the reason nobody is willing to shell out $1500+ for a marginal windshield. My belief (hope) is that as time goes on we will find someone to remanufacture the exact replica of our ZR1 windshields. Until then, save your money.

I promise EVERYONE here on the registry...It is MY MISSION to get some correct windshields made....Please educate me as to the details I need to pursue (not the cutouts diff size) but how the numbers were stamped each year and what passes for OE --shadings etc.. I am not kidding...may take a long time but I will get this done somehow someway.

If you would like I can take digital pictures and send them to you. Just let me know exactly what you want a photo of.

not sure if pics would help, I know most all the visual stuff, just writing and numbers....what MUST be on the glass is a better way to put it.
thanks!

Correct dating and stamping info for all years is listed in the 90-91 NCRS Guide Book. To be correct, windshields should be dated no more then 1 year prior to the build date of the car. My 90 windshield is in very good condition with no delam at all, but my 4,000 mile 93 has slight delam around the top...seems the later ones suffer from delam more so then the early ones. Good Luck in your quest, Im sure most of us would be interested in buying a spare.

I would take one. I have 4k miles and delam. Good Luck and thanks for the effort.

Please forgive my saying this but I think Z Factor did some checking into this not long ago...I remember seeing it somewhere here. If I find the thread I'll speak up.

The long & short of the thread was that it would be cost prohibitive; unless 2 or so thousand dollars per windshield is not considered too much money for a windshield?

Another member, phrogs, found something from a place called "safelite" they are a chain type shop. I went to their site but I never actually saw an example of their glass & I don't know who made it for them. I don't remember the pricing but it didn't seem excessive to me. I was almost going to order one so I could actually look at it & compare it to the one on my Z. I never did as I don't have the room to store it. I am just going by what I found on their web site and I did a "local safelite search" to see if a dealer close to me had one in stock. The results of the search did not actually indicate that my "local" safelite shop actually had one. I rather thought that a near by warehouse had the item because in the "schedule an appointment" box it listed the available appointment times as "today". Their "local dealer" is close to me, like 10 mins away.

I guess I should have followed up on this.:o Sorry to be so long on this. I just thought this info might help get a starting point for your search??

That's what these NOS ones go for though, and you pretty much know they won't last forever before they start to delam. So if you could get a quality replacement with the same film/abilities for the same price, but it would last essentially a lifetime, that would seem to me to be a no-brainer (unless NCRS is a factor for you). :)

My windsheild is perfect so far, it was changed in 1999 by the previous owner he was paranoid about the delam. I would also buy one for future use.;)
