Hi All. Who is the best source for 4:10's???

I may be incorrect but as I remember the Viper uses the same dana housing so I would think that a wrecked viper could be a source? Maybe Summitt or Jegs even for a b/n set? Duh....call Marc Haibeck...:o

Tom, good ideas!

Check with Phil W... He either has a viper 4:10 set available or he knows where to get them!

I went with Yukon gears, from here: http://www.justdifferentials.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=31_86_501&products_id=2779

Most go with Dana (Viper); I was on a budget. I don't know what kind of deals right now, but Phil sent me this a few years ago and worth checking if you want Dana which is supposedly the best and strongest:

Here is the MOPAR part number for the 4.10 gear set P5007043 .
Here is an add I received the other day which is good till Jan 11. Just tell Jeromy you are returning customer and maybe he will give you a extra good deal on a set.
You will be very pleased with the difference the 4.10 gears make.
Good luck with your project and happy New Year
Phil

No matter the brand make sure that you buy a gear set for 3/8" ring gear bolts. The later Vipers and the later CMC gear kits are done with 7/16" ring gear bolts.

Dana 3:90's Thick.

Frank,

The 3.90 build I bought from you that was done with the early 44 and a sleeve is doing very well behind a rather large cubic inch SBC in another Corvette. He ruined his gear and I lent him the one I bought from you to establish a tune for his car.

I expected it back in a couple months. Six months later he was still very happy and wanted/decided to buy. I bought a 3.73 for a build but may still do the 3.90. I never had the opportunity to try the one I bought from you!

Is this 3:90 better than the 4:10? Is it thicker tahn the 4:10? Also, thanks for the tip on the 3/8" vs the 7/16".

We have been using Tom's Diff. stuff for quite a while now. As can be seen in the catalog these are also Dana gears.

It is my understanding that the Viper 4:10's are now made in China. Buyer beware.

This is one of the many reasons to call Tom. Also his U joints are the old style 1350's. He sell's no junk. Buy there with confidence.
