I was looking for test and tunes that didn't include other race events (they are usually very crowded and the TNT guys get the shaft). There were very few of them.

But on June 4th at 75-80, there is a Mopar show/race thing going on. All cars are welcome though for the test and tune. Sounds like it might be a good time to get a lot of runs in?

Anyone interested? 75-80 is about the same distance for me as Mason Dixon. It's probably closer for the MD guys, it's right outside of Frederick in Monrovia (intersection of Rt-75 and Rt-80).

I think Mike can make it, I'll probably give the V a run, and Sean should be able to make it with his C6.

Bummer, I have to work this weekend (3-4 June) so I won't be able to make it.

Last time I was there, 75-80 was an 1/8 mile track. Do you know if they have extended it?

Have fun.

I haven't been there in years, since before they closed and re-opened. But it was a 1/4 mile track back then. I'll double-check that it still is.

Definitely 1/4 mile. Flyer for the event is here:

and mentions 1/4 mile stuff. Hopefully it'll be nice weather and able to get in a lot of runs.

Thanks for the research Bob. 75-80 is ~ 30 minutes from my house. I will have to check it out when I have an open weekend.

Have fun!

Track is interesting. It's sort of a slow track. But it was incredibly grippy. The parking lot is terrible, the staging lanes wind oddly through and around the parking area. And the track workers didn't give any direction, but were sort of attitudey if you did anything (or just sat there) since they weren't giving direction.

I had a terrible time with the V, I missed shifts constantly. Then on the last run I just shifted very deliberately and ran a terrible 14.2 @ 99. It also wheel-hopped a lot, I couldn't even do a burnout to clean the tires off.

Sean ran a best of 13.1 @ 109 I think, and Mike did a 12.6 something @ 112.

Thanks for the update Bob. Were you able to get a lot of runs or was it crowded and slow?

It was crowded and slow. It sucked. You'd sit in the staging lane for probably 30 minutes between runs, sometimes longer.

Definitely the Corvette/Stang days are the way to do it, or any private track rental where you can hot-lap it if you want.
