There were two of them with the stuff, one Mcleod steel flywheel and one aluminum

Lee,
The McLeod Street Twin is my favorite clutch. It has twice the torque capacity as the OE clutch and drives just like an OE clutch.
The first time I encountered one in a car, I thought that it was a stock clutch until we discovered it when removing the engine.

Dual disc setups are listed on McLeods website: Both were in the lot:
Aluminum setup $2024
Steel setup $1782
Interesting.......
Flywheels are indeed thinner than the standard flywheel to offset the disk

So what are the real world benefits of running a dual disk set-up - if aren't running an 800hp monster? To put it another way, if the stock clutch can handle the torque are you getting anything extra out of a dual?

Exactly!
I would think you could abuse them and power shifting would not be so rough on them.....I believe best times in the ZR-1 are with powershift technique.
The stock clutch is good up to 550 rwhp & 480 ftlbs with street tires. Anything over that a D/D is a great choice. As Marc stated the McLeod Street Twin drives like stock and holds the 441 with no problem.

Well Frank should know his car is known to make "Some" power. You know Frank just how much RWHP does your 441 make? Inquiring future 379 owners want to know. Mine should be done in two months
580/491 .. traction is a problem. Then get traction and it's time to test the drivetrain for the weak link. Fix the first weak link the go on to the next etc. etc. etc.
Well you get the point.

379 who is doing the engine ? Take it to PM I don't want to poop on this thread. We can discuss the fine points.

Took these apart, they are in great shape....
I guess the one thing I missed about the Steel setup was that the TO bearing was clean none of the grub you see on a used set up.
Measured the disc... one if 7.9mm and one is 7.6mm, I measured the new one I have for the stock setup and it measured 7.9 the steel setup still has the orbital marks were they prepped the clutch surface. I would say this one only has a few passes, and the steel is supposed to be the best street setup
The aluminum seems to have a few passes on the clutch discs, but there is meat there....all of the internals are the same on both.
If someone has an interest on these I would be open....I could easily swap the clutch discs from the steel to the aluminum if some wanted it.
Let me know....
