This weekend, the Lone Star Corvette Club will holding the Corvette Classic at the Texas Motor Speedway. Even though there is a chance for rain, come on out and check our the ZR-1 display and the ZR-1 Net Registry booth. Also, I've been told that Harlan Charles will be bringing a 100th Anniversary 2012 ZR1 with him to the Classic. Showtime hours will be from 11:00am to 4:00pm this Saturday.

It came and it went today. The first ZR-1 Net Registry booth at the Lone Star Corvette Classic. We had a good crowd even though it poured down rain and thunderstormed. Car attendance was down; usually it's around 500 Corvettes. Today they estimated around 300 or so. Final numbers won't be in until later. Here some pics. Oh, and we have the first 2012 Centennial ZR-1 displayed with our ZR-1 display. How's that for cool.

Here are some more pics of today's Corvette Classic. The last picture is a 1964 Corvette Coupe with a LS9 engine in it. Unbelievable.
Update: The award for Best of Show and People's Choice went to the C2 ZR1. The red 1990 ZR-1 took First Place in class and 2010 silver ZR1 took First Place also.

Great pics. Thanks. That ZR1 is sinister and the early model is too much.

Kinda shocked David when I told him about the 2012 ZR1. Are you sure? he said. Yep! I have the VIN number and the pics to prove it.

Wow Roy, you set up a really first class display! What a great collection of ZR-1's you assembled.
Did you get a lot of interest form the crowd?
What did you use to put the big banner up? It looks very professional.

Jim, the crowd was more interested in the older Z's than the new ones. I was there all day so I talked to a lot people including Clint Hooper. Since I behind the cars playing the videos and watching the cars, I wasn't in the mainstream but I did go out when someone stopped by the cars and talked to them. Interest was high and I met some new and old friends. I built the banner stand from 1/2 pipe and made it so it could be carried in my Z. Next time, if we do this again, I want the table to be up front with the cars. It was a good day. Here are some random pictures.

Here are some pics from the 2012 ZR1. Hope that you like them. I didn't take any shots of the seats as they were the wrong ones installed in the car. The VIN number is 3 but this is the first 2012 ZR1 Vette. Apparently, the plant made two previous cars but they were built as 2011's. Oops.

Just flat out awesome Roy. You have set the bar high for ZR-1 Net Registry participation at future shows.:fahne:
What did you use for the base pieces of the banner stand?

I went to Ace hardware and bought two umbrella stands that were black granite. I did spend a small fortune on this but I wanted it to be top notch. Only problem that I had was that I couldn't find any small display stands for my three ZR1(-1) picture. In the future, I have some other ideas for a display. It will be better. Met a lot of locals guys with ZR-1's, so we will be getting something going soon, I hope.

Did the 64 with the LS9 have a tube frame chassis or was it a C2 chassis?

As far as I know, it was a stock C2 chassis with heavy mods on it. It didn't look like a tube chassis when I looked at it. When I talked to him, he showed me several features about it that lead me to believe that it was a stock chassis. I could be wrong about that but that is what I think. Up close, it blows you away. I can only wonder what Zora would have thought of his creation.
