Anything happening in the NW for the Registry? I'm already booked through July, August and September when we have had something before.

If anyone wants to attend the Super Chevy Show in Spokane, let me know and we can be sure to hook up there in July. See my other post for details.

Hey John

I just got this last night. It looks like a lot of email account are missing. I xxx out phone# and address. Not sure if Doug would like that out in public forum.

My job as NW Director is to coordinate events and activities for the members of the Registry. I would like the events planning to be a cooperative effort of the PNW Registry members. I have had several offers of help with this and would like to take advantage of those offers.

My ideas are revolving around doing more smaller events. Although this makes it difficult for those not residing in the Puget Sound/Seattle area, I would like to plan on including one day cruises to various places such as Hurricane Ridge on the North side of the Olympic Mountains. With trips like this it does not take a full weekend for the local folks. For the non-local folks that may want to attend a weekend event we can make arrangements for their overnight stay at a local casino about 20 minutes from my home.

My other thinking is we need to include our families in these activities when ever possible. Being a member of the local Corvette club, I have noted that almost all of this group includes their significant others in the activities.

There is a new racing park being developed in Shelton Washington. This park has been approved and is under construction. The park will have a drag strip, a track course and an autocross course. The drag strip is scheduled to be open in late August or early September. If we delay having a weekend event until the drag strip is open we would be able to add drag racing to an event. This park is about 30 minutes from my home.

In the interim, we could plan on various days to perform light maintenance on our ZR1's or just days of pizza and beer gatherings. I have a 4 post lift and a fairly good selection of tools to facilitate light maintenance events.

Speaking of the 4 post lift I am gong to be assembling this on May 1. If any of you would like to pitch in on this send me an email or call me at xxxxxx by Thursday 5-12 so I can have enough goodies on hand and to give you directions. My address is xxxxxxxxxxx, Olympia, WA if you want to look up directions yourself. As mentioned above, please let me know if you are coming so I can be prepared.

For those that can and will help with the club activities let me know so I can get a few members involved in a planning committee. We need to establish dates for events and determine what events are most desired. Please send me your events ideas and other thoughts by May 21 so we can compile them and let all know the results.

Thanks All,

Doug

PS: If anyone has contact with other ZR1 owners that we can add to our mailings, please send me their email address or phone number. D.

Sure, I can swing up there. I was hoping you found a deal on a set of LS7's for me.
The prices I found sound a little high..

Ryan will be racing his '76 Stingray. We got together last year when he went (and won). He has promised to be more sociable this year too. As mentioned in another post, SPokane is having a Super Chevy Show this year too. July 29-31. I'm showing my '91 at that. Would be nice to see some Bros there.

The Super Chevy Show is the weekend that the PNW event is usually held. If there's no PNW event I might make the Super Chevy Show instead. Being too lazy to clean a car, I'll park my daily driver in ther parking lot and look at other people's detailed cars.

I had heard about the Rose City spat, the minutes seem to confirm what I had heard. Looks like the Classic is pretty much toast this year. I have also heard that the track day and auto x may actually happen under different sponsorship.... we'll see.

Got this from the Pres of RCC so look's like your are on top of it Robert.

Greetings;

It's to bad that we are not having a Classic this year. However, there will be an Autocross that same weekend that is put on by NWACC on Sunday at the Pro Pits & then on Monday, we will have one of our own members put on Trackday. If you've run Trackday before, you should receive a flyer in the mail for that.
However, remember, it is not sponsered by Rose City Corvettes.
Hope to see you there.
Roger Tooker, Pres, RCC
