Well Gang,
It?s that time of year again. I hesitated and stalled as long as I could but I guess it?s time to announce that the Auto Masters & ZR-1 Net Registry BBQ is now official and you are invited!
So many of you have contacted us we decided to once again host our true Southern Kentucky hospitality and put on another show for your pleasure. We home cook everything we serve, no caterers. Members of the Bowling Green Assembly Corvette Club and others in the community will be on hand to chat about Bowling Green and maybe even some Corvette stuff! J
Beginning at 5pm, Thursday May 12th, at Auto Masters (http://AutoMastersofBG.com (http://automastersofbg.com/)) 790 Interstate Dr, Bowling Green. We are across the street from the NCM down from Jerry?s Restaurant. Plenty of parking at adjacent Vette City Flea Market parking lot.
Last year we had over 200 attend and we raised over $4,000 for our troops over in Afghan Land. This year, our goal is to once again benefit the National Corvette Museum in the form of a large brick and maybe add a few around its perimeter for our fallen Corvette comrades.
This brick will not name any names, rather, it will simply portray the ZR-1 logo, and a short phrase. This brick will be placed in a less travelled area so it can be protected from infringement for a longer period of time. There is already a brick of the same type being done by Dave Bright and hopefully we can place these together. In addition to the smaller bricks you may want to purchase, some of you may want to add a large brick in the name of your company or for personal reasons. The more the merrier.
Hopefully this will give all the opportunity to memorialize their friends and family who experienced the ZR-1 Corvette in one way or another.

On another front. SFC Eric Egelstad, last year?s BBQ Guest of Honor, has returned to Fort Campbell from Afghanistan but due to recent activities, First Sergeant Eric will be hosting festivities for some members of the recent UBL raid at Fort Campbell.:flag:
Eric was deployed at a combat ?outpost? in Afghanistan which is one of the most dangerous assignments to be had. One of his troops, Andrew Hutchins, was once wounded but volunteered to return to his unit, was recently killed in action. Andrew?s family has setup a scholarship fund in his honor. We will also be donating to this scholarship.:saluting:

There will be some unique and valuable items for auction to help raise these funds however, your contributions and donations will be greatly appreciated. If you care to earmark your donation, please feel free to do so and we will ensure that happens. AS in the past, larger contributors will receive a momento or two. I?m going up into the attic this weeknd to see what treasures I might find.
Please note:
It is not mandatory to donate and there is no fee for the BBQ. We have accepted a donation from the Net Registry for a portion of the food, there will be soft drinks and even a barrel of brew floating around. All we ask is that you RSVP so we can ensure enough food for everyone.

My PayPal account is vandornjim@aol.com.
Email is preferred but any questions can be also directed to me at 270-842-0454.

Hope to see you all very soon.

OK folks, over 60 so far and counting daily. I went up to the attic last night and found a few boxes of nick-nacks including a whole box of ZR-1 Corvette related T-shirts brand new in the packageS. Remember Rippie?s Team ZR-1 USA?? Some of them too. Heck, even a Thunder at Stillwater or two! ZR-1 decals & keychains, posters, lots of stuff for anybody interested.

There will be a giveaway table setup for all of you to pick through. By raffle ticket of course?. :-)

MUST BE REGISTERED TO GET FREE STUFF! [-X NO TICKY? NO TAKEY.
