Not sure it'd be welcome at a 'vette/'stang event. But also it'd be sort of pointless. It's a heavy car and they don't put power down well at all. I'm certain it would be in the mid 13's.

It sounds like Mike's planning on going. Sean will certainly bring his C6, assuming Sterling Chevy gets a trans in it by then (they've had the car a month).
You guys gonna go? Or are you all saving it up for BG? Might be a good shake-down instead of waiting until you are 12 hours from home!

I am planning to be at Mason-Dixon on the 30th. My son Roger said that he will attend also, so it should be a good time.

So Mike's not gonna make it. Sean may or may not, Sterling Chevy broke some magnetic ride sensor when doing his trans, and they may not have it fixed by Saturday.
You still planning on going Jim? I don't want to drive up there and just watch some 'stangs! Also, will you take the 368 if you go? :D

Yes I am planning to be at Mason-Dixon on Saturday with two cars.
I am installing a line lock in the Black Z and I am waiting for new tires. (I probably won't be pushing too hard on the 8-year old tires.)
The Quasar just got replacement injectors and is running fine. It will be my first chance to try out the newly ported plenum and IH's.
I hope to see you there Bob.

You guys are killing me!! I didn't want to go out to Mason Dixon and break something just before BG but I just can't resist. I'll be there!!!
Guess I could always invoke the JV Loaner Program for BG?? Seeing as the red Z has been the loaner in the past...by default that would make black LF the new loaner now????

Don't worry guys, I'll throw some spare spindles and half shafts in the trunk before I head out.

Great day! Weather could have been a little warmer for traction, but it seemed like people were running faster and faster as the morning progressed.

You just can't do better than a day at the drag strip with your ZR-1 friends:

Here is my black 1990 (please ignore the '93 wheels) comming off the line.

Thanks Bob for posting the videos. The best time was my son Roger driving the 1990. He got better on each run and his last run was a 12.15 at 121.94 mph. The 60' time was 2.050 sec, his best for the day.
My best time was a 12.48 at 118 mph. It was a real thrill to watch my son beat my best time, since I taught him everything I know. LOL.
The Quasar Blue was running poorly and the Tech 1 showed it very lean so we didn't get any good runs with it. I will have to continue investigating the fuel problem.
Thanks the the Mustang Club for letting us share that track with them.

Heheh, your secret was safe with us! Roger definitely was running better each time. I also noticed he seems to launch like Sean does. Instead of bringing up a steady RPM, he blips at the gas a few times, and goes on a blip.
It seems to result in pretty good 60' times that way, and no one can argue with the RT's it was producing! Perhaps I need to change my technique in the future.
Also, I believe you ran an identical 12.48 but at 120mph earlier. That 368 is definitely making some power. I believe Sean and Rich's high traps were around 112mph.

I think you are right, Bob, but I couldn't find the slip. It must still be in the car.
The big difference for Roger was moving from the left lane, that had a water box to the right lane where the ramp was dry. We believe that in order to use the water box to heat up the tires, a driver has to ensure that the tires are spinning as the car moves forward all of the way past any wet area. Other wise you end up at the line with wet tires.
I had trouble with the shifter in the 1990. It is stock and feels "sloppy" compared to the Hurst short throw shifter that is in the Quasar. I have proven that the "2nd-to-5th" shift technique does not give a good ET.

Also, Roger was shifting at a higher rpm than I did and for that 12.15 run he crossed the line in 3rd gear. The car has a stock 3.45:1 differential. Roger was shifting at >7000 on that run.

Bob,
Those are awsome! Thanks for shooting those videos! Had a great time guys. The Z ran great on the way home, so I guess I just overheated the disk.
