Does anyone have an extra brass Key Chain from the '90-'91 Owners Kit you would be willing to part with? If so, how much?

Thanks Dave.

What's a fair price for those key chains?

Thanks Dave.

What's a fair price for those key chains?

15 years ago when I bought one from Mid America, it was like $10. At the time I didn't realize it was a part of the ZR-1 owner's kit, I just liked that it was two-piece and said "ZR-1". (I had an '87 L98, but would have loved to have had a ZR-1)

I could see one being worth 2-3 times that at this point, but there's no way in hell I would buy one for $125.

Also, be aware that if you use it, it will dull:

Also pictured there is the only (as far as I know) GM key that has a model logo on it vs a brand logo... :D

Obviously this is not the real one, but this isn't bad looking and is a good price. 99% of people wouldn't know or care that it's not original. If you were going to use it for the valet key, I'd think it would work fine:

Kind of funny they even make it. Not only does the ZR1 not have a valet key, it doesn't even have an ignition key. You don't need a keychain at all, let alone a two-piece one.

About $60 to $75 is fair market value. With this in mind I have seen them go higher. Supply and Demand. Go figure

It's bizarre how the actual cars themselves are getting disgustingly cheap, while the stuff like this gets disgustingly expensive.

Well, I was stuck on a conference call right before the ebay auction was over, so i didnt' get a cahnce to bid on it. Looks like it went to the one and only bidder at $50.

I'm still looking for one if anyone wants to part with theirs.

Because of how it dulled (there were some spots that were flatter than others), I had always assumed it had some coating on it. But I tried some metal polish and you are right, it shined up great.

I don't mean any offense by this, just wondering. Why wouldn't you have put in a bid sometime before then? You can bid at any point during the auction. If you end up getting sniped at the last minute, it's no worse than not bidding in the first place. But at least it would have sold for a price you wouldn't have wanted to pay.

No worries Bob. Normally, the less hype there is around any particular item the more chances the bidder will not go all out on there max bid. It usually works out better for me this way.

Already did. They have 3 more, but only two are for sale. Waiting on price confirmation.

Good tip on the polish - I assumed it was coated also. Will have to try that. Thanks!

The brasso works great

My wife bought me the keychain before they got rare and expensive. It was years before I could afford the ZR-1, so I kept it unused in the hope that I'd someday have the car to go with it. Now I do :-D
