All,

We are in the planning stages for another Las Vegas Gathering...

I need your help in deciding what to put on the agenda this year. Please vote for any of the options below:

Sep 23-25
Event would include attending options of attending Barrett-Jackson and a day at Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch
http://www.barrett-jackson.com/
http://www.springmountainmotorsports.com/

or...

Oct 7-9
Event would include attending Vegas Vettes Corvette Roulette and a day at the Mojave Mile
http://www.corvetteroulette.com/
http://www.mojavemile.com/index.html

Please chime in with your druthers!

Thanks!

Well to be totally greedy, I vote for Sept dates since my son and I are already booked and flying out to Las Vegas for BJ and hitting Shelby land. Staying at Mandalay Bay.

Thanks for setting this up Ron. :saluting:

I have always wanted to run the Mojave Mile, it is on my ZR-1 Bucket List. Besides if I went to BJ, I would probably come home with another ZR-1 and I don't have any more garage space.

My dad has a garage at SM so it would be a no-brainer for me to invite myself as his guest at the track.

I hear ya, GC. I forgot to mention what Darrin calls the Spousal Continuation Program Requirements that would be in jeopardy. I reached 4 C-4's for a while in 2009, and the home front, background noise got hard to bear. ;) Discretion being the better part of valor, I sold the 96 CE.

The Texas Mile sounds good also, but I am committed to work on that weekend in October

Hey Ron!
Spring Mountain was great- I've never been/done Barrett-Jackson.
Never thought if would be fun without $$ to spend. But what do I
know? I'd be eager to help, but LV locals would be the best. Be safe!

Well it's starting to look like Sep but I'll give the poll until a week or so before BG to make the final decision.

I cannot do much right now anyway. I'll be here in Afghanistan until sometime around BG... Luckily the internet connection is somewhat reliable...

Keep the votes coming!

Cheers,
RH

Vegas to Mojave 3.5 Hrs?
If Uly was driving maybe 2 Hrs
Going back on April 10, they do a great job
Spring Mtn is great, maybe 1 Hr away
Just lenghthened back straight
Never been to BJ Vegas, I go every year in Scottsdale
These are some very difficult choices as they all sound good
Either way I will be there

Just a friendly reminder if you can work it in your event offerings every Saturday Morning off of Eastern & Richmar they hold Cars and Coffee a lot of great Corvettes and many other cars show up, but very few of our era of our era of ZR-1's. No Charge.

Very easy to get to a few blocks off of the South 2-15. They also have a website for more info and Motor Cars of Las Vegas is located there. 7am to 11:00

That's a great idea... I've never attended but I've heard great things... There is a car-show every Sunday 1 mile from my house and I always seem to migrate there. There's also another at the local Dairy Queen on Friday nights just a few blocks from the house...

Ron,

If you need any local assistance for the Las Vegas gathering I would find time to lend a hand and help with local groundwork for you.
Just let me know.

Take Care,

Joel Marston :)

Marc Haibeck and his wife have driven to the Gathering in LV before. I helped Ms. H at the tables- she won, I lost. It was a blast. Maybe you and the FBI guys can caravan out together.

Not yet but will have more news next week...

I had more to do than I thought on my return... And our first Grandchild being born on Memorial day didn't help slow things down at all ;)

I will also need to find a backup just in case I have to leave the country on short notice again. Yes, there are rumors...

Ron Hanselman has regrettably informed me that he will not be able to organize & hold the 2011 Las Vegas ZR-1 Gathering as he had planned, due to personal priorities.

I know Ron well and consider him to be one of my best friends and can tell you that he is very disappointed to have to cancel for 2011.
