Are these the design that Jeal supposedly copied?

Nice set of headers there.

I really couldn't say. Others here may know. I do know I've never seen a pair of these come up for sale since I have been involved in the Registry. Only Jeal's and Stainless Works.

Thanks, they fit great too.

Lgaff and myself have them on our 92's. Can't argue about the power they make. They fit great too.

A month earlier and I would have snapped them up buddy. Good luck with the sale, although I doubt you will need it.

Yep mine fit great, no mods to oil dipstick or any clearance issues, Made my car loud as hell with Borlas and straight pipes. Noticed the torque difference fist time I drove it. No drone as well.

OK, thanks GC, I also heard that Stainless works also did some deisgn "borrowing", any truth to that?

If I had my LT5 I would like to grab the Watson headers. They look very well built. Lingenfelter used thon their LT5 kits didnt they? Anyone know which LT5 package they were used on?

I dont think so or else they would fit better. The stainless works you have to move the Dipstick tube and such which is not the case for the Jeals I am not sure on the Watsons however and suggest that Dom weighs in since he installed his a couple of years back. This dipstick move prompted Jerry to make the dipstick seal a few years ago because as your well know once moved these tend to be dry rotted and fall into the pan. I would highly suggest picking up these Watsons if Dom tells you no dipstick tube removal was required. GC

my understanding was:

Jeal was first

Watson copied Jeal

SW copied Jeal

OBX I am guessing copied SW or Jeal

If I was to hazard to guess OBX prob copied SW. I have yet to hear how these fit. If the Dipstick tube needs to be move yadda yadda. I am waiting to hear somebodies thoughts on the OBX headers that has recently installed them on their car.

Does anyone have any thoughts on how well these small tube units will work with a 402 that makes a little over 600 hp? I need headers to go with the 402 I'm bying from Kevin but assume (yeah, I know what that means) I need bigger tube headers.

Thanks.

What exhaust sytem are you going with 3 inch? If so then yes go bigger. If not these will be fine. GC

Thanks Dom, but I have the originals.

There is no modification to the dipstick needed with these headers. You use one of the stock bolts and spacers and you are good to go. Plug and play deal here, no joke. I think Dom and Lee can verify that.

Hi Jim,

I can't answer your question for sure on the Watson's and if they would affect your 402 build. I am thinking maybe Kevin, Todd or Ryan can pipe in here with their experience with headers if any. Also, maybe a call to Marc or Jeff would be in order also. If I remember right your build will have cams and larger throttle body also so I am sure the chip won't work for you.

I don't have a exact number of HP loss, on a 402+ ci. motor. It could be 5-25hp, just not sure. Maybe Marc might know, I think he has done back to back dyno runs.

Jim only 600hp...... I'm betting more. Take it your not going to hit it with the 250 shot;)

No nitrous for me, but I don't want to choke things up with a tiny exhaust. After the headers I plan to run entirely 3 inch exhaust, including mufflers that have 3 inch passages throughout. It may be a tad loud, but I'm getting old and deaf so it won't matter. For headers I guess I need the 2 inch primary pipe Stainles Works. Anybody have a set of those for sale?

Ah Jim, they aren't that tiny. I probably would hold out for the bigger tubes too.

Me either. This is a steal on coated headers. Everyone who is thinking about headers and passes on these is going to be kicking themselves

Headers are off. Not bad at all, but now comes the fun part.
