Was driving back from my trip to Md on Friday, and almost made it home with little incident. About 20 miles from my house a C6 vette decided to give me the goose (I was in my Audi). I downshifted to fourth (should have been 3rd) and gave it the boot. He had the bump, but couldn't seal the deal.

To his credit when we backed off (fairly short run) he pulled back alongside and gave me a wave and a head shake. His girlie had a big smile on her face (they were a 50 something couple) and all was friendly.

My Audi is awd, and not a roll racer, but she made a pretty good show of herself against the car. What do the c6 coupes trap?

I would never claim victory, nor defeat in a run like that, it was just a friendly sprint.

He got the bump and I was about a foot or so in front at the end.

It ran much better than I expected. I have quite a bit of loss through my awd system, but his car still ran very strong. I assume he had some mods, but you know what they say about assumption. It was just a tad loud for stock, but I do not know a lot about vettes.

I have no idea what series it is, but it seemed to be a slushbox.

I have a feeling he will not underestimate a 4 door car again, but maybe the flared wells and badging gave him an indication of what it was. My belief is the former, although he didn't display any arrogance, only disbelief by the headshake.

Those types of encounters are very satisfying. Sounds like a LOT of fun.
