Flickering Dash Lights

Like the title says, my dash lights are flickering (pulsing) from bright to dim and bright again. There is a definate rhythm to the pulses. (about 1/2 second apart) I *assume* it is a diode on its' way out in the alternator. Is there something else I need to be checking before I R & R the alternator?

The FSM says I can R & R the alt without pulling the plenum. True????

Yep I did mine two months ago all I had to pull was the Air Horn. Pulling the TB will give you a lot more room however.
