hey guys,

Think this car can have 500 RWHP with these upgrades?

Love the callaway rear bumper, but wish it had the front.

This is a 1990 ZR1 with only 12,60 miles it is NOT STOCK it has over 22K in preformance and body upgrades.
I has the Callaway areo body rear bumper and has 1996 corvette front bumper & fenders.
The heads were sent back to Greg Vandeviter of GM MERCUISER ( the people who built the motor for GM)
The heads were ported & polised & biger valves were put in. The injector housings were match ported to the heads. The air plenumn was match ported to the heads as welll.
The Throttle body was ported and match ported polished air housing
the car has forced air induction
Screamin deamin coil packs
8MM new plug wires
Custom computer chip was burned on the dyno
Car Dyno tested at OVER 500 HP at the rear wheels
Valve covers & Air plenumn was powder coated RED to match the car with Black letters
Many of the parts on the motor have been polished
411 gears
Polised porcelain coated long tube headers with 21/2 Borla exhaust
Porcelain Clutch
OZ RACING WHEELS with brand new tires 275/17 on front & 315/17 on the back
The Interior in Black and everything is in mint condition from the seats to the carpet
The car used to be black and I had it paited Red with black accents - black lettering, black mirrors, blacklouvers
Paint is a 9 out of 10 looks great
all the rubber molding are like new
I have owned the car sense 1997 and hate to see it go
The only known problems Has a small oil leak coming from the front of the motor (it just drips a little when it has been sitting for a while)
Scratch on the passenger side window
I put to much wieght on the steering wheel when I was getting out and the steering column tilt moves a little but drives perfect
THAT IS IT EVERYTHING ELSE IS GREAT
The car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end this action at any time

Personally I think it has 500 @ the crank. Opinions?

I think he has 450 RWHP.

I don't care for that car at all David - your car blows it away.

Repaint from black to red
Looks odd without the front fenders and front bumper, what is up with the black license place holder in bumper?
Interior looks poor for that low of mileage.
Body work on drivers side bumper looks gappy.
LT-5 red power coating seems to be missing something.
Injector housings not powder coated red.
Water pipes are not powder coated red.
The stance of the back of the car looks odd, is the rear jacked up or maybe its the tires on the rim?
Black side mirrors?

$22,000 is alot of $$ for the upgrades he has. It could be done for way less $$.

The car is the red headed stepchild.

It's a ZR-1, not a Callaway but it has the Callaway bumper and even though it looks like a 95 ZR-1 with front bumper and side gills, its really a 90.

Not my cup of tea, but I'm sure plenty love it.

Okay Dave, obviously you like the treatment to the body....so do I:redface: I think it looks kind of cool. The mods are nice, but your car is more than 1/2 way there to his motor package.

Now, not to rain on the parade, but either this person had money to burn doing the body mods? Changing the rear bumper cover is not tough, but buying the parts couldn't be cheap? The front bumper is not exactly a Saturday project in the driveway and I doubt that is a cheap part? Then there is the paint work, done right that wasn't a driveway project either.

Therefore, my first Q is was there body damage at the front & rear? I don't mean to cast doubt upon this person's honor....I'm just saying why do all that if the body was okay? :icon_scra Unless I'm rich & absolutely love the interior of my 90 Z, why do I make it into a 95 body as opposed to just buying a 95 Z?

:o

I doubt 500 to the wheels. Maybe to the crank with about 410-430 to the wheels.

I'm with him :saluting:

I do not think the cosmetic mods work well together.

Perhaps it was a typo, has happened to me many times.

While the body mods are not my taste, apparently some like them. They do not create a hazard/nuisance for other drivers, so the criticism may be a bit harsh?

Wonder how he got just the rear bumper? Pretty sure Callaway only sells complete aerobody kits. :icon_scra

Yeah I was wondering that too.. Rob, you are correct, if you want the Callway body pieces you have to buy the whole kit.. ~$9500

If I was to guess, a previous owner wrecked an aerobody car and choose to rebulid the front end with a 95 front clip and hood.
