If it's just the tensioners you need and not the housings too, $175.00 each inc. shipping.

Not bad Kurt. Why would somebody need the housings? Do they get damaged or? Any one know?

Housings can get damaged and crack if someone doesn't pre-load the tensioner before bolting to the head. I've never seen one wear out though.

Are your tensioners bad, or they just need re-loading?

Hi Daryll - I have a set of cam tensioners that came out of a low-miles 1993 LT5. I will post a picture in a few minutes.

Jim

The cam tensioners have been sold.

I do not have pictures of any other tensioners, sorry, and I don't know the reasons for design changes.

It looks like from Craigs post provided by cliff that the new Housing is the "key" portion and cups more oil upon startup. Hence solving the oil stravation problem. It appears the tensoner problem is more of a housing problem. Is this the correct read?

Having never held a tensioner in my hand are these spring loaded? It appears they are unlikely to wear? Anybody?

Ok this make sense. I figured it had to be a spring piston or something hence the tensioning do. I wish Jeffvette video was available. I told Jim ok on his pieces for spares. Thanks Cliff I must have missed these post. The RH side finally has pissed me off so its getting done lol

Craig suggests the tensioner itself are identical (old and new style) and only the tensioner housing is different.

I think it was only RH tensioner where the style of the housing changed. It appears that the new style aluminum housing for the RH tensioner comes in two pieces. The new style housing that Craig received is aluminum and the old housings are steel.

So....where is Carter when we need him.....like Craig suggested Carter could make these two piece new style aluminum housings.

;)

I'm right here and yes. I can duplicate them. Just need a sample and we're good to go. Anyone???
