I noticed that MN now has 10 members of the ZR-1 Net Registry. This is an increase of 9 since the forum has really kicked off many months ago. Way to go guys. Spread the word at your club meetings and shows. Let's get as many members as we can. =D> =D>

Hi Bob, :hello:

Just joined the forums recently and browsing around found this quite inactive thread. Hopefully more of the Minnesota contingient will see this. Meeting up some time during the upcoming summer with all the MN-Zers would be awesome sight!

We bought "The Beast" late last October and are looking forward to having the April showers rinse all the MNDOT crud off the roads so we can start putting on some miles. The big snow this weekend isn't helping but "this to shall pass"...!!!

Congrats on the KOTH. If you haven't driven it yet you are in for many many big grins:mrgreen:  . I have had mine for 3 years and drive it alot. Go to alot of the show around the Twin Cities. Now that you know about the forum you will have to join the Registry. Many nice guys and gals belong. Also if you haven't joined any local clubs I belong to Classic Covettes of Minnesota. Good bunch of people. More social than racing. Good hearing from you. If you have any questions just ask. The people here on this forum are the most knowledgeble people you will ever meet:cheers:

Thanks Bob! We were able to put on a few miles before tucking "The Beast" away around Thanksgiving. Our favorite show to get to every year was 'Corvettes on the Green' and we were disappointed that it wasn't held last summer. Loved the golf course setting but the park in New Brighton had its pluses also. There are several shows that we haven't gotten to yet but plan to in the next couple of years.

Even though "The Toy" has been in the garage for nearly 7 years I have yet to join a local club. I'm very active in the 'C3 Vette Registy' so a lot of my free time is spent there. But I know a few CCM members and enjoy their company when our paths have crossed at various places. Also know a few folks in the Suburban club. I know there are a lot of C3 and C4 owners around the TC metro area and we need to get to know more of them.

The recent warm spell had hopes of springtime arriving early quite high but Ol' Man WInter kinda snuffed those thoughts with the snow dump this weekend. That's ok I guess, still have a long list of tasks to do on the cars before the driving season returns.

Hi,
Good to know there's a few ZR-1's in this part of
the country.

Anyone got any recommendations on where best to
get an LT5 serviced?

Local dealers, DRM??

I know Grossman Chev was big on Corvettes in the past,
but driving by now, I see more pickups than vettes in
their lot.

Thanks,
John

Hi John and welcome to the forum. Good to see another Z in the Cities. Not too many of us around that I know of. The previous owner of my Z used to take it to DRM. The owner lived in Peoria, IL so I don't know why he didn't bring it to Marc Haibeck in Chicago. I bring my car to Marc for most everything. Just had headers put on in April. When I was at the Gathering a couple of years ago I remember a couple of members were not too happy with DRM. Don't know what the problem was but they would not go back. What I like about Marc is that he only works on ZR1's and he know everything about them and he is reasonably priced. I live by Southview Chev and had them do some minor things but would trust them with anything serious. I think that the only other member in the Cities is "norsky" out in Orono. Haven't met him yet but I'm sure our paths will cross. Post some pics of your ride in the pic section of the forum. Would be great to see what ya got!! I am a member of Classic Corvettes of MN and we put on the show at Mystic Lake Casino the first weekend in August. Great show and would like to see you there. PM me and I can get you the details with my phone #. Anytime you would like to ride give me a call. I'm always looking for some type of action. By the way, I have been up to DRM and was not impressed with the operation. Pretty messy compared to Marc's place. You can eat off the floor of Marc's.

Thanks for the responses!

I wouldn't think twice about taking it to Marc, if only he was a
bit closer.

I've been to Southview Chev years ago for the oil
pressure gauge, and a few other minor things, but wasn't sure
what experiance they had on the LT5 itself.

Hi John,

I've taken "The Beast" to Village Chev in Wayzata for a few things but nothing requiring cracking into the engine (yet).

I've replaced all the fuel injectors myself and also an oil pressure sensor but left the A/C overhaul to the kids at Village and so far I've been happy with what they've done.
