Who makes a simple, drilled not slotted stock size rotor thats a direct bolt on for the car?And is it possible to have the rotors powered coated black then surfaced on the contact area? Why painted, dont like the cad silver-gold look.Thanks.

There is nothing wrong with having the rotors powdercoated. Just get the machine shop to take a very light cut to remove the paint from the contact surface. Good idea!

Thats what I did, eastwood carries a nice selection of high temp powders. I then turned them down on my lathe. Now I tried not to allow the powder to get too deep in the vents in the rotor so the heat can still e conduced well but that's just me.

They are the look you don't like, but are simple drilled rotors, and fairly cheap.

It isn't clear if the rotors are 13" for the front? I picked '95 for the year since J55 became standard that year. But it says "without HD suspension".

PowerSlot Rotors make these for the ZR-1>>

After a few brake cycles look like this>>

I thought the rotors would not be a noticeable as they would (meaning seeing drill/slots) so I switched back to OEM but sent them to Georgia Plating and had them media blasted and zinc electro plated>>>

Don't worry about the zinc on the brake pad to rotor contact area...that comes off completely after about 1/2 doz brake cycles...just creates a bit of dust (zinc rubbed off) and that blows off easily. If you decide to pre-remove the zinc be careful how much is removed since the rotor to pad contact area is not 100% as you can see in this pic>>

Georgia Plating does black zinc plating too>>

Thanks for all the info.I think Ill check out a set of Bear rotors. The 2 piece jobbers are really nice but not at $1200 a set:censored:

You need to shop around. When I bought mine years ago it was tough to do 2 piece Baers for under $1200.

They have come down quite a bit - several hundred dollars. Also sometimes you can pick up used.

They are slotted, which you'd said in your OP you didn't want. However, they don't cost that much:

Fronts: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BAE-2301012/

Rears: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BAE-2302019/

$920 total, and Summit does free shipping (~$9 handling fee)

If you go that route, I would suggest considering their Plus-2 rear upgrade. It's a 13" 2-piece rotor and a caliper relocation bracket. It's about $150 more than the two-piece rotor alone. The larger rotor will give the car some rear bias, and it fills up the wheel a lot better.

GM has some crossdrilled/slotted p/n's for the Vettes. They use a 30,000psi tensile strength casting. Not 100% what you are speccing, but are a GM option.
18039636 Rear/left
18039637 Rear/right
I dont see any front rotors listed in my book, ma7ybe check with GM, I cant see them offering a rear rotor, and not a front rotor.

I used 18039642 front /left and 18039643 front/right on my reg cab shortbox 2wd 1/2 ton GMC and was impressed with the improvement over stock. The rotors came with ABS reluctors, and were quite beefy when compared to the stock GM castings. I put a buddy HARD into the windshield when he was riding shot gun, but didnt have his seatbelt on.
Fade resistance was better than stock. They would start to fade after 5-6 100-0mph(160-0kph) panic stops, rather than the stock 1-2 stops before fade occured. Vehicle weight was 4200lbs with stock rear drum brakes.
