As a former member of the "forces", whenever I think of December 7th, 1941, I always think of December 8th, 1941 when the U.S. declared war on Japan and all of the military recruitment centers were flooded with volunteers wanting to stand up and fight for their country. It sends chills down my spine to think of the sense of pride and duty that was felt by people back in those days.

The Canadian goverment declared war on September 10, 1939. WW2 was the Canada's 1st declaration of war that was independent of Britain.

Side by side our 2 countries fought on D-Day, just as we have done and do today in Afghanistan.

Lest we forget..
